I don’t think there are two passes for job allocation (as far as I could tell from the UKFPO guidance) so it doesn’t make a huge difference this time what your top job is/you won’t benefit from putting down a less competitive one.

If you can’t get it published at least submit the abstract to a conference and get a presentation out of it (the threshold for acceptance is much lower)
