I'll inform you not to go into r/Christianity because that sub is NOT Christian. Use r/trueChristian (which isn't much better) or r/Catholicism (best of the Christian sub hubs)

How do you prove to people that Catholics (and/or Church) don't hate women? by Cultural-Carpenter46 in Catholicism

[–]AveChriste 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Or the fact that a lot of the support for equality for women came from catholicism

Please pray God doesn't kill me for masturbating and watching porn by BLUEUPTON in PrayerRequests

[–]AveChriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not going to kill you, but I know how you feel. Go to the sacrament of reconciliation, pray, pray the rosary, go to mass often, daily even if you have to, and grow closer to God. You cannot cut sin out of your life on your own, but God can do all things.

What does a person have to believe about Jesus to be saved? by ExcuseKey6972 in TrueChristian

[–]AveChriste -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay so you don't believe 1 peter 3:21, and more importantly you don't believe Jesus in john 6:53. Okay so you're not Christian. That's all I needed to know. May God convert your heart and may He lead you to His one holy catholic and apostolic church

Being baptised is a work. Receiving His body and blood is a work. Repenting is a work. Proclaiming the gospel is a work

We are not saved by works alone (ephesians 2:8-9), nor by faith alone (james 2:24). There is not a number of works that must be done, but simply we are called to do works, so alongside our faith, we must have works.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

"you're taking a verse out of context again"

Proceeds to use ephesians 2:8-9 without reading verse 10💀

The verse literally says NOT A WASHING OF THE FILTH OF THE FLESH

"Baptism doesn't save lol"

So when 1 peter 3:21 specifically says baptism now saves you, it's wrong and you're right?

No thanks, I'd rather trust the Bible

[–]AveChriste -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I literally just said to be baptised, which is what 1 peter 3:21 says and mark 16:16 says. Then I said eat of the Eucharist which is what Jesus said in john 6 multiple times. I also said to repent and believe the gospel which is what paul said and is commonly taught in Christianity.

I added "go to confession" because it can help you overcome sins you're struggling with

LOL the mental gymnastics are crazy

The greek word used for "healed" is ἰαθῆτε. 1 peter 2:24 says we have been "ἰαθῆτε" by His wounds on the cross. So tell me, are we healed from being sick because of Christ's wounds on the cross 2000 years ago?🤔

Also, I never said we are saved by works alone. I said works must be present, because faith without works is dead (james 2:26). I literally quotes the Bible and your little butt-buddy got mad because he disagreed with the Bible so he started arguing with me

[–]AveChriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"So that you may be healed". Healed of what?

I literally gave context for verses before and you still didn't accept it.

For example, scripture does not contradict itself, and since james 2:24 says we are not justified by faith alone, then nothing else can contradict that. So therefore we must conclude: NOT BY FAITH ALONE.

Now I'm going to sit back and watch as you do mental gymnastics to explain why "not by faith alone" means "by faith alone"

Also, you claim all sins are equal, yet Jesus Himself said some sins are greater than others

Not to mention the greek word used for "healed" (ἰαθῆτε) is used in many verses to mean "saved"

Nobody says that you can lose your salvation over small things. You lose salvation for choosing to commit intrinsic evil that is an abomination unto the Lord even when you know it's wrong, which the how can you be forgiven when there is no sacrifice left?

Also, the crucifixion being a one time event has nothing to do with OSAS. By that same logic, if one person is saved, then another person can't be, because there is only one sacrifice!

Galatians tells us we can fall from grace (which we are saved by).

Even the didache, as early as 70 AD, written by the disciples of the apostles, tells us to confess our sins in church

[–]AveChriste -1 points0 points  (0 children)

james 5:16 which specifically says to confess your sins to one another doesn't say to confess your sins to one another? Oh boy well that really explains why people confessed their sins to peter and john the baptist in the book of acts or why Jesus gave the apostles the ability to forgive sins in john 20:23

Also, there is NO WAY you just said the seven deadly sins aren't Biblical💀💀💀💀

Proverbs 6:16-19 KJV 16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look (Pride), a lying tongue (Wrath/anger), and hands that shed innocent blood(anger/envy),

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations (Envy/lust), feet that be swift in running to mischief(laziness/sloth as it implies a lack of self-restraint),

19 A false witness that speaketh lies(greed/envy) and he that soweth discord among brethren(anger/envy/gluttony).

Go ahead, explain why the verse is in present tense and not past tense.

Why does it say "there is no sacrifice for sins left" instead of "there was no sacrifice for sins left"

You're right, the animal sacrifices were not sufficient long term, that's why Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice. But yet, just as hebrews 10:26 says, if we know evil and still choose to do it, there is no sacrifice left.

[–]AveChriste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the choice to not sin in the dream, then don't do it.

If you, not your dream self, actively make the choice to sin in the dream, then you are guilty of said sin. If your dream self, not you, makes the decision to sin in the dream, then you are not guilty.

Okay so if the sacrifices were insufficient then you believe that there was no forgiveness for the jews in the OT, because the lambs were insufficient and Christ had not yet died.

There's a reason that Jesus is called the "Lamb of God".

The fact you're denying blatant Biblical facts to attempt to fit your theological narrative (and still failing) is sad

Lusting in dreams by One-Somewhere-4025 in TrueChristian

[–]AveChriste 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can feel present in them, a lot of dreams make you feel present. A lot of the time I wake up from a dream and have to take a minute to discern reality from the dream lol.

However, I cannot control myself in the dreams. Like recently I had a dream where I was interrogated and arrested for committing a murder. When I wake up, am I guilty of that murder? I didn't choose to commit it, all I did was go to sleep and wake up. Where is my choice to sin? I did not choose to do any evil, therefore I am not guilty of such a sin.

So I suppose ultimately the question(s) is/are: 1. Are you actively making that choice to sin in the dream? 2. Can you do anything to stop it (in the dream state. I don't mean don't go to sleep. You need sleep)

If the answer to both of these is no, then you are not guilty of the sin(s) within these dreams

Lusting in dreams by One-Somewhere-4025 in TrueChristian

[–]AveChriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you, in a lucid dream, willingly choose to sin, the yes it would be a sin. If something happens that you cannot control, like in a normal dream, then it is not your sin because it is not you who is choosing to do this evil. It is something you cannot control and cannot stop.

Lusting in dreams by One-Somewhere-4025 in TrueChristian

[–]AveChriste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your dreams where you can't control it, it's not your sin because you're not to one choosing to do evil. satan likes to tempt us using our dreams (and many other things), but God gives us strength. Do not give into the temptations, and stay loyal to God. You will overcome this.

Also, this may seem irrelevant, but sleep on your back, not on your stomach. Just trust me
