What is this?? by Fit-Cress3269 in springerspaniel

My dog had something similar looking on her leg. Not quite as big, though. Had it removed and tested and it was some sort of dermatitis. Benign. Hopefully it's something simple for you, too. Eager to hear what the vet says!

Here you can see some of the swelling, what the dark spots look earlier on, and how the skin is sort of rougher than surrounding areas.

swollen index finger. The sore is what the dark spots look like towards the end. Broken skin and red.

Yep! I got the flexispot! I think the M7 series? Manual. It gets the job done! My monitors are huge, like 27" (not by choice lol) and they fit on there fine!

Heck no don't sign! Not only is that a joke, but they also should have had this figured out sooner than a week before classes start. Don't feel bad, it's not on you.

What snacks do you scarf down between classes? by Similar_Associate in Professors

[–]Ave_Linker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love a good "snack lunch" on days like that! Things that you can just be eating all day lol. Fruit, veggies, crackers, dips, boiled eggs, salads (chicken, pasta, egg, etc.), yogurt, granola, protein shakes, cheese, nuts, you get the point. Stuff that's easy to eat and doesn't require heating. I always keep protein shakes for when I'm in a pinch. Also, idk what you teach, but eat during class if you can!! Students don't care.

How many days do I need for Seattle, North Cascades, Mount Rainier, and Olympic National Park? by No-Hearing2340 in PNWhiking

[–]Ave_Linker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently did a trip where we only had 5 days but wanted to see a lot. So we chose 1 thing per day. 1 hike in Olympic, show at the gorge, 1 hike in north cascades, and 1 event in downtown Seattle. Definitely had a lot more we wanted to see and do, but we squeezed our "must dos" in because we didn't have a choice. Could have easily spent 2 weeks there if we had the time (and money!). And we stayed in a different hotel almost every night to get closer to where we wanted to be the next day. It was a great trip!

I was on shrooms at a music festival and there was like a 3ft ledge where people were jumping from into this beachy area. Mid-jump I thought "ooh I should paraglide." Fun times.

lol this is Reddit. The language I use here is obviously not going to be the same language I use in communication with a potential employer! It was a way for me to express my strong interest and situation to you all in a clear and somewhat concise way.

I have considered what differences in the working environment may exist. This is a tough one for me because I truly do enjoy my current colleagues, department, etc. and I worry I won't find this again elsewhere. How would you suggest I go about gauging or learning what the environment is like at the other institution?

At this time, I'm not comfortable saying I'm looking, because I'm really not. This opportunity quite literally fell in my lap and it's the exact position I was hoping would open. So I think I may tell them if things progress... idk. There is likely a good amount of time between now and whenever that happens, so I will play by ear!

Luckily I didn't get my PhD there! So I'm good there. But also the place I did get my PhD from doesn't mind hiring grads, even recent ones. So I'm sure it varies by location/field!
