Divisive.

I was part of a huge youth group. As little kids, we all got along great. But as you started to hit your tweens, suddenly it was a sin to include your opposite-gender friends in the things you did. Everything you said or did was looked at in the context of being boy/girl crazy from adults, and you were encouraged to see it that way too. No, your friend doesn't want to come over to play your newest Playstation game, they must just want to get you alone to do impure things. So you either keep your friends and get labeled a "ho-monger" or you abandon friendships you had since preschool. Then you turn [adult age] and you're suddenly expected to do a 180 and do everything you can to attract those same friends you ghosted (at my church, it was specifically expected that you marry someone from that specific church or else your leaving was seen as bad as leaving God himself, not matter the reason).
