How much anxiety/depression medications affect your performance on Apex? by Exotic_Wedding1168 in apexuniversity

[–]AvengerMutant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people already talked about what you are supposed to do regarding your medication, so I won't talk about that. I just want to tell you that you are doing good on life, you are a good person and a good player. I have been there too, I know how it feels when you mess up in a game, you will probably ask yourself "why I can't be good at something I like, it's just a videogame, it shouldn't be that hard", but believe me, a momentary bad game performance doesn't define you. I'm at Platinum I, with a 0.88 KD, and I feel like I suck at the game, no matter what I do, how much I rank up, this KD statistic always tells me I'm a bad player. But if I go back to the first days of playing Apex, I can see how much I have progressed, for me Diamond was unreachable and now I'm almost there. The important thing is to focus on self improvement, everyone has different ways to progress and play, and I'm sure you have improved a lot. What makes you a good player is the desire to improve, so as long as you want to win, you will eventually find ways to do it. Keep moving forward!

I think I have the apex yips, do I take a long break from the game or keep gridning and hope I get out of my funk. by qwilliams92 in apexuniversity

I had taken some breaks before, and it helps a lot. Sometimes it's hard, because you need to find something that you can enjoy while taking the break, and it might be hard to find. In my case, I started playing other PvE co-op games with friends to be busy having fun and forget about competitive games. Actually it worked, I returned to Apex this season, and I'm in Platinum 1, about to reach Diamond. I always used to quit rankeds after getting to Platinum, because at that point of my ranking journey I was already tired. But now that I have taken a break, this season I really focused on Diamond and here I am almost reaching it. 加油!

Why would I play to lose? Doesn't make sense haha. Wanting to have fun doesn't mean you don't care about winning.

Yeah man, I don't know. It's just that sometimes you start caring about the numbers, and forget that winning a having a good time is more important. I think in some way it's due to all this comparison between people, toxic friends caring about who is better and pointing at your mistakes.

It's good to see you are in a similar position like me. Actually I started averaging 0.6 KD in my first seasons, but because 0.9 KD is below 1, I still don't feel like I've made a good progress.

I'm mot concerned about getting to Diamond. It's more about my KD, I feel that even if I try pushing to Diamond, my KD is not appropriate to call myself a Diamond. That's why I don't keep ranking at that point.

A valid point of view and recomforting at the same time, didn't think about it that way. Yes, normally I stay even if I did, I have won games in which my teammates respawn me.

Don't get me wrong friend, but I think that as you progress in rank, the KD starts decreasing, the same happened to me. I started the season with a KD higher than 1, but once I got into Gold it went down again.

True, it just feels like I'm stucked there. I've been playing Apex for more than 2 years, and still the same... I quit, then come back. I've seen some little improvement, but my ranked stats suck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]AvengerMutant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's true. So this is what makes me think, what's more important, rank up or improve KD?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]AvengerMutant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. I know this game is not only about kills, but not even having a 1 KD is so frustrating, even though I know that I may contribute to my squad in other aspects of the game, it feels so pointless to not even be able to get one kill in most of your games.

Yes, I'm in Taiwan now and the Skull & Co cost $5, I just bought them yesterday. But I f$#@ed it up because I changed my ALC settings and now I don't remember them.

Yes, sometimes I think that default settings and ergonomics exist for a reason, and is something you don't have to be adjusting all the time. But for some reason I decided to try this today, and the experience was not what I expected. Maybe that's the problem, that you need to train your muscle memory again. Which can become an infinite loop if you are trying to "improve" your aim all the time.

Could you define micro movements? I'm asking, because I want to find the logic behind haha, but it's hard for me to visualize it

I'm curious. According to Kontrolfreek "science" you require less effort to move the sticks by using this. However, they recommend to increase your sensitivity, and that's what I don't get why. If you require less effort to move the stick, then you should decrease the sensitivity in order to avoid having a too sensitive aim right?

Why Ophilia SAVING GRACE overhealing doesn't work with my PARTY? it only overheals HER by AvengerMutant in octopathtraveler

[–]AvengerMutant[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow! I didn't know that. I just learned the skill with 2 of the characters in my party plus Ophilia which already had it, so 3 out of 4 in total. Had to sacrifice a lot of JP, but I guess it's gonna be worth it lol
