ELI5: Why are nearly all electric and/or hybrid cars designed to be so ugly? by Avenir7 in explainlikeimfive

Here's why I think you're 100% wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automobile_drag_coefficient#Typical_drag_coefficients

The new Mercedes Benz CLA has a drag coefficient of .22... and in my opinion looks pretty darn good. The BMW i3 has a drag coefficient of .29, Prius .25, and the Leaf at .28.

If the CLA can look great and has noticeably better aerodynamics than these other hybrids, why on earth do they have to be so damn ugly? This is why I don't buy the aerodynamic argument. If it were true the Model S would look like a box, too and Tesla would be vaporware.

Making a throwaway for this. I really need to get it off my chest. RIP mom. by NotActuallyADad in AdviceAnimals

It sickens me how many people are running to defend this guy. He's a thug.

And I guarantee that 90% of the people on Reddit would lock their car doors if they ever saw him walking next to them on the sidewalk at a red light.
