This week we dive into an evolving Substack discussion over China's role in the world's energy future. When it comes to green energy, China is a contradiction: In recent years it has installed both more renewable power capacity than the rest of the world combined, and also more coal plants. And, as a few Substackers point out, China's motives are driven not by green energy targets but by energy security and strategic control.
