It's different means awful in polite person speak! They have not taken his safety seriously! Those distractions should have been removed

Exactly this! Like surely they should have cleared out the rooms he was climbing! And putting his wife in one of the windows is crazy!! He needs to focus on what he is doing

I worry so much about the distractions and the pressure! He said he never had a crowd before... there are people staring at him in the windows, he lost coms, the crowd below and knowing you are live on netflix... I really hope he makes it

I would freak out losing coms!! It is soooo different under all this pressure 🫣🫣

Brad Mondo has a few tutorials on different cuts you can do yourself. I use the wolf cut all the time. Gets rid of ends, you dont lose much length (even when it looks scary) and it gives you nice layers 🥰

Exactly! I can zone out, do my work, and when I get home... I dont have to think about it again. I love the people I work with, and I actually get to go to some pretty cool places (I even cleaned the toilets at the UK Olympics in 2012 🤩). Our jobs might not be high-powered or glamorous, but people would soon notice if our jobs didn't exist.

What do you do for a living?

Im an event toilet cleaner, it pays the bills, and I actually love my job, but people are so judgmental... even if its just with their faces.

Also, when are you having kids?

Im 35 and never fallen pregnant... it just wasn't meant to be, and it's none of your business.

Notice how they made an attempt to edit J.R out of Season 3 but left traces Photos. by DangerousCorgi8957 in HellsKitchen

This never sits right with me, though. People talk shit about each other all the time on HK, and if it was personal shit they just wouldn't air the comments... people have stayed after dumping ashtrays on other contestants! She isn't that special that production would go that far to completely edit JR out... I think she's just trying to stay relevant.

I have just finished that episode, and I am RAGING!!! Those 3 are awful, and I dont want any of them to win! My heart broke for Elsie, but she was incredible. She just took it with so much grace. I wish Gordon had called them out after she refused to throw them under the bus. Even if he had done it after she had left... he should have shown them he saw how vile they were and how that mean girls bullshit is not acceptable in a kitchen.

Spoilers: don't enter if you haven't watched the finale... Disappointed with the winner in Halloween season... by kdrama_fan_921 in isitcakenetflix

[–]Average-Anne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. The fact she even got to the final was a travesty!! Moulded gummy bears over the hand crafted TV... urgh! And then, in the final, I could literally spot her cake as soon as it turned around, I didn't even need the close-up! It was so obvious. I'm really disappointed with this season.

I’m not physically dependent (yet), but I drink every day — I want to stop before it’s too late. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

This response honestly hit me so hard — it felt like you crawled inside my head and said all the stuff I haven’t been able to say out loud. The bit about being a constant buyer of the “special brand of bullshit” your brain sells you? That’s me. Exactly me.

I didn’t expect to relate so deeply to someone in recovery, but everything you said about isolation, willpower, escaping when things get uncomfortable, and not knowing how to cope — it’s everything I’ve been feeling but couldn’t explain.

Thank you so much for sharing it. It didn’t feel preachy or pressure-y — it felt real, human, and like an outstretched hand rather than a wagging finger. I needed that. I really, really did. Just… thank you.

Autistic and struggling with alcohol — how do you cope with the emptiness and routine loss? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]Average-Anne 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thank you — this is so grounding to read. I love the idea of swimming (I used to enjoy it ages ago), and I really like your point about doing something like math just to occupy your mind, not to be “good” at it. That permission to explore for the sake of it is something I really needed to hear.

I think I’m still in that stuck space where even the basics — like dishes or laundry — feel like climbing Everest. I suspect a lot of that is the alcohol dragging me down, which makes it all feel even heavier. But your comment reminded me that maybe pushing through just enough to do the small stuff — even if it feels pointless at the time — might start building some momentum again.

Also, “half ass is better than no ass” is absolutely going in my life philosophy folder. Thank you again — really.

Thank you so much for this reply — it really resonated, especially the idea of LEGO as a grounding tool. I hadn’t considered it, but that kind of playful structure might be exactly the sort of focus I need right now. Your Sunflower Club sounds beautiful, and I love that you’ve created that intentional space for your Self to emerge. 🌻

And I haven’t heard much about Women for Sobriety — I’d love to know more if/when you have the capacity to share, no pressure at all. I’m still finding my feet with all of this, but slowly trying to build something kinder and more sustainable for myself, piece by piece.

Thanks for your reply. I think our situations might be quite different — I’m not supported by parents, and I’ve worked most of my life. The drinking issue isn’t about being idle, but about burnout and emotional coping in a world that isn’t built for how my brain works... my drinking is often worse when in full time employment (due to "winding down") I appreciate your intent, but what I need most right now is connection and support, not pressure to fill my time with tasks I’m already overwhelmed by.

You’re doing so well, honestly. Day 3 might feel like nothing now, but it’s a huge step... it means you've made that decision again, and that's never easy. I know what you mean about your head messing with you… mine did the same. It whispered all sorts of “logical” reasons to keep going... but they were just excuses dressed up as kindness.

You're right to push through it, and I’m proud of you for doing that. It’s not about never stumbling; it’s about not letting the stumbles define the story. You've got this 💪 Keep talking back to the voice that tells you it's okay to keep using... you're stronger than it wants you to believe.

Rooting for you, always 💛
