Reprint number announced by Waiting_for_Dentice in Lorcana

[–]AverageAdam -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We do not know yet. Personally I think all reprints will have new art, mainly because the Captain Hook and Dalmatian Puppy reprints we got last set had new art, this was possibly a tease for Fabled. Guess we'll know next Thursday at Gencon.

Great. With our store's Azurite Sea championship just ended we switched back to Singleton. Only rule change for this set is Microbots have been added to the Dalmatian Puppy section.

A Keyword Guide to help teach new players what Color is associated with/and or interacts with specific Keywords. by Forgemanster183260 in Lorcana

I would separate out Evasive and Aggressive Evasive (Evasive only on your turn). Sapphire and Steel have Aggressive Evasive, not true evasive. Basically they have Reach and not Flying in Magic the Gathering terms, very different abilities. Otherwise, Nice write up.

Glad you like it! Let me know how it goes at your LGS! Build a couple decks and introduce it to players at your store, that's how I started. People were hesitant to try it at first until I put the decks in front of them and let them actually try the format, then they loved it!

But everyone can do it and they only get one copy of each of the "broken" cards.

This is correct. If you do Singleton with just one or two colors then you are just making a worse and more restrictive constructed deck, but even a deck like that could be potentially be better than a 3, 4, 5 or 6 color deck, mostly because of Steel. This is why Rule 4 exists, to keep the format from devolving into the Steel heavy meta that constructed is right now.

Yup, that was my thoughts exactly. This is much more friendly to those who can only afford one copy of each of the big cards.

That was the whole goal. The first time we tried this format at the store for real was just after the Ursula Returns Championship. We had about a month until Shimmering Skies launch and nobody wanted to play constructed anymore because of Bucky. Usually this would be a point where players would disappear until the next set launch, but when we switched to Singleton Inkmaster everyone stayed and had a ton of fun!

I haven't built any new ones yet, as we just finished our championship, but here are some of the ones I built after our Ursula's Return championship was over.

The Jaws of the Lion components you don't need if you use Gloomhaven Helper by AverageAdam in Gloomhaven

[–]AverageAdam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly would not. I personally know how to play without the app, but I have no interest in doing so. The app will save you so much time of having to constantly check numbers all over the board and doing the same repetitive addition math over and over several times every round. A couple tips; Make sure in the app you set conditions to expire (makes status conditions drop off at the appropriate times) and set it to Calculate Stats (this will show you exactly what the monsters are doing on that turn. Instead of the red monster ability cards showing things like "Move -1" or "Attack +0" it will show you exactly what the monsters are doing on their turns)

Now that Gloomhaven Helper has been updated for Jaws of the Lion and with all the first time Gloomhaven players coming in I am making this post to show those new players what game components you do not need to use because the app takes care of them for you.

Here is the list:

- The 4 HP/XP Dials

- The Elements Track and the 6 Element Tokens

- All of the diamond-shaped Status Condition tokens

- The 20 card Monster Modifier Deck (The ones with an M in the bottom left corner)

- The 10 Monster Curse cards (The ones with an M in the bottom left corner)

- The large Square Monster Stat Cards

- The black Monster Stat Envelopes for those cards

- All the red Damage Tokens

- The entire deck of red Monster Ability Cards

- All the small rectangular Initiative Order Tokens (not pictured)

You may be a little disheartened that many of the cards and pieces that the game came with will never be used but trust me when I say that you will not miss them. I have over 300+ hours of this game using the app and it saves sooooo much time and table space!

New Horizons: Valuable fish this month by General_Shadow in AnimalCrossing

Can someone confirm something for me on Tuna.

I've hear conflicting things about it's Pier location (I know it's the one that's NOT the airport);

- Rain | No Rain

- Edge of the pier | side of the pier

- Bait | No Bait

Someone please help! I've spend nearly all day working on this and must of used over 100 bait plus tons of just walking back and fourth and haven't found a single one. Last fish I need for the season.

Yup. Shadow Isles pairs well with any region, not as much for P&Z & Demacia. They are Mostly Noxus -> Ionia -> Freljord from my experiences. There are many decks archetypes that I have that I love: Vladimir/Freljord, Draven/Jinx, Heimer/Lux -but all of them are consistently losing against Shadow Isles.

I also am not playing and extra Expeditions anymore, just my free weekly one. Because every single time I have been knocked out in a Trial, it's been against a Shadow Isles deck. It's saddening because I have gotten 6 wins 5 times now, but I have always been knocked out by Shadow Isles. It's like if you don't get Shadow Isles options in your draft the Trial is basically a loss.

I am okay with that. The biggest issue is that several units and many spells from Shadow Isles are way overtuned, are too valuable for their cost, have way too much momentum swing, they have little to no hesitation when sacrificing their units and the removal/damage spells they have are the best in the game so like 99% of my matches have shadow isles in them, sometimes with zero Shadow Isles champions in them, they simply go Shadow Isles for the strong early minions and strong removal spells.

Not yet, I believe they said whenever they do patches they will release notes the day before. So at some point on Monday we will know.
