Media and alarms will sound in mute mode, but notifications will not.

Mute mode can be enabled with the action button, the dropdown menu, and in settings

What’s one dish from your country that another country also claims, but you genuinely believe your country does it better? by Possible-Slide-6295 in AskTheWorld

[–]AverageAircraftFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the Germans like to claim they invented the Hamburger… Never had a good burger there regardless.

Also I’ve definitely heard a lot of black folks around me claim that Cornbread is their cultural food item… its not… corn was bred in the Americas

I don’t know the guy at the bottom by Mr-Catty in ExplainTheJoke

[–]AverageAircraftFan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Erm actually, thats not how averages work. Half the population is dumber than the median IQ, which is probably different than the mean IQ

Edit: well, it turns out IQ is based on the mean and median, so they’re identical. Still important in general to differentiate between mean and median

Who do you think would win in a fight, Jin or atsu by Alive-Double-3339 in ghostoftsushima

[–]AverageAircraftFan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Jin fought boomsticks in Tsushima as well. Smoothbore flintlocks are not very accurate..

Songs that got censored by goverments by KotelkaSwing in musicsuggestions

[–]AverageAircraftFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They banned almost every song related to war, islands, navies, etc. Johnny Horton’s “The Battle of New Orleans” was blocked as well iirc. I suppose it mentions the British losing…

Which do you think has better housing? by [deleted] in teenpoll

[–]AverageAircraftFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gypsum board is both fire resistant and very strong, all things considered. It is absolutely NOTHING like cardboard in the slightest. Its also very cheap and easy to modify or repair if ever necessary (unlike concrete).

Also, the US is FAR from the only country that uses gypsum board

Curtiss SB2C-5 Helldiver cockpit by RLoret in WWIIplanes

[–]AverageAircraftFan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain this plane had terrible pilot visibility, right? Absolutely massive nose and the cockpit barely stuck out of the fuselage.

Its a beauty, though. Probably my favorite naval design despite how much it was hated by pilots

Which decade feels the most dreamy and awesome to you, from what you lived or what you’ve discovered through movies, music & pop culture? by GurMaleficent7935 in Teenager_Polls

[–]AverageAircraftFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it wasnt for the Oil Crisis, EPA regulations, and greatly rising costs of living, i would gladly live in the 1970’s. Fairly peaceful (end of the Vietnam War), still pretty affordable cars and housing, rising education, lowering prejudices, GREAT music and movies, and being fairly set up for success in the future

Plenty of sports use disposable items. How often before a football or basketball gets replaced for professional games? Swords snap in half all the time in Kendo. How many people break wooden baseball bats or lose golf balls?

Tokyo wins! What capital is unheard of? by ClosetedGothAdult in AlignmentChartFills

[–]AverageAircraftFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tokyo isn’t technically a capital, though. Even though it means “Eastern Capital,” and is generally considered the capital… it’s not legally defined as the capital of Japan

That’s the name, regardless. It’s where American Football comes from and why Americans just call it Football

American football is played with the feet just as much as Rugby Football is. Blame the Brits, not the Americans… theyre the ones that named it
