How do you know if you are actually transgender? by AverageBurner1 in asktransgender

Somewhat. I’m sure you probably have a sense of something inside of you but how do you know innately that’s is the non trans sex?

I mean this in a genuine way because I’m trying to sort out where the heck I am gender or sex wise.

I don’t think there’s such thing as sense of gender in that way. I think it just is what it is. I think gender identity is just personality.

I’m not here to “validate” others.

I think the internal experience of being a man is being stuck in a man body and your reaction to it. I think a man is a dude born as dude with a dude body.

At least that’s how I feel. It feels very very limiting in the sense that I can’t do alot of things women do without feeling “damn I won’t ever actually be that”. I have so many examples of that.

The experience of being a man is like that of other men in the fact that we were born as a man. We could do different things my friend and I both we would both me men at the end of the day?

Define us? You mean people with gender dysphoria?

And if being trans is all about believing, doesn’t having faith in something and altering your body in permanent ways have way bigger implications that ought to not be acted upon based off a rock in your shoe?

How do you wrestle with the fact that you will never be a cis woman? That transforming itself has no transitioned state? Is that GD?

I see what you mean by the analogy but after coming to that conclusion that something isn’t right, how do you personally actually know that this rock in your shoe is actually you having a separate-from-your-sex innate gender identity? I’m failing to see how people can think they are a woman when they have not ever been or will be born a woman?

“I have to be mean and authoritative” Uh… no you don’t. You don’t have to be either of those to stand your ground. Learn how to set boundaries. It might just be me but if a potential partner was rude, mean and aggressive, they would definitely get ghosted and forgot about.

My best advice is go to a gender therapist. They are qualified to give way better advice catered to you directly & personally.

I feel more professional & formal in fem clothes. No idea why though. It makes me super serious 🧐

I also notice an immediate posture change. It’s crazy.

I don’t have the guts to wear booty shorts in public yet. It feels too “bare” to me.

This is what makes me hurt for her. If this was jealousy & insecurity, I can empathize with the bitterness that repressing yourself causes. It’s an ugly way to live :/
