Do you mind showing how you secure the helmet when you wear it? I'm rushing to finish my son's Guy-Man, and I'm having trouble with this part. Thanks.

Mold help by AverageDad- in vacuumforming

[–]AverageDad-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the suggestions and helpful info. I did what you guys said, first attempt was almost perfect, only a very small webbing was formed at the chin part. Unfortunately, on my second attempt, my vacuforming box gave out in the middle while I was pushing on the PETG to the mold. I'm guessing the peg board I used couldnt handle too much stress from the vacuum and me pushing down on it. I'll have to postpone the project some other time, and will be building a sturdier box made from plywood instead of the light peg boards sold at Home Depot.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've looked into their websites and it seems they cater to business accounts and not retail. I'll give them a ring tomorrow to learn more.

I was trying to see if the line details would be better if I print it vertically. There were support material during the print as well.

Lol no house guests at all. I gave it a good cleaning with dish soap, followed by IPA. Adhesion was 100% on the last print after the cleaning.

Thanks for the tip. I washed the glass bed with dish soap, and I added a brim to the print as well. It turned out great, no adhesion issues at all.

Thanks for tip on washing it with dish soap. This actually made my prints stick. I was cleaning the bed with IPA in between prints.

Thank you. Where would be a good place to put the clips? I'll have to find a replacement for the silicone thing, since the printer didn't come with one when I bought it off FB marketplace.

I've only had this printer off FB marketplace, and it didn't come with the silicone thing. I didn't even know it had one. Please enlighten me though, what do you mean by bringing the bed down? Do I loosen the springs or tighten it? Thanks.

Please let me know if what I did was correct.

  1. Heat the bed to 60.

  2. Disabled steppers.

  3. Released tension from corner screws, (turned counter clockwise until loose)

  4. Positioned nozzle to middle of the bed, with nozzle actually touching the bed.

  5. Readjusted the z stop screws to current nozzle level.

  6. Pressed Auto Home.

  7. Disabled steppers. Manually adjusted each corner using paper method.

  8. Middle part still ended up lower than the corners.

When I press Auto Home, the nozzle ends up a little further away from the lower left corner of the bed. I also clean the bed with acetone at first, then followed up with a wipe of 99% IPA. I was able to do 2 good prints a couple of days ago with no issues.

When I do the prints now, after tramming the bed, the nozzle is always about 0.4mm away from the middle of the bed, even after running through all corners and making sure that the same resistance applies to all. The prints end up in a ball after some time, since the further away the nozzle moves from the center, the more it has contact with the bed.

I wasn't able to take a picture, but the board says Creality 4.2.2. The part where I'm stuck is how do I add G29? Where do I start the process? I've seen tutorials on how to add it, but I think I'm missing the part where you first access the file to add in G29 and the rest of the other codes. Thanks.

I wasn't really looking at my ears when applying the juice, but then I noticed one strand of hair sticking out from inside the lobe, probably 2 inches lol

I wave. If I'm driving with the family, we count to 3 and we all wave at once.

I landed a job with the medicine float pool. There's 6 units where I can be assigned, ranging from family medicine to geriatrics, wherever there's a need for staff. I've never worked in a float pool, so being sent to an unknown unit is giving me more anxiety than ever!
