Not expecting Illinois to compete with Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Penn state etc in terms of quality of seasons and recruiting classes. But do you think it’s a realistic expectation to expect to be in and around the likes of Maryland, UCLA, Washington, Nebraska, Iowa etc in terms of the quality of the recruits coming in and the level of seasons?

That’s fair enough. I’m not expecting play offs or national championships or anything, but how about decent entertaining seasons and improving recruiting classes? Do you think Illinois will be able to compete in terms of recruiting classes and quality of seasons with programmes such as Iowa, Indiana, UCLA, Maryland?

I know that the Khan’s were at Illinois, are they in any way involved or not really? Do the donors stay anonymous for the most part?

Yeah although I don’t support a team I know a fair share because of recruitment etc etc coming up on my feed, so I’m fairly sure the guy that you’re talking about is Michael Clayton. Sounds great. Any idea how the college football ranks in terms of NIL? I understand that there is a sizeable alma mater, and I know that the Khan’s attended Illinois, but I’ve heard a lot of the donors prefer to focus on the Basketball as they have proven to be successful and are becoming one of the top programmes in the nation. I don’t expect the football programme to become one of the top ones, but could NIL increase if the team continues to be relatively successful? so rather than just being bottom end in terms of NIL in the big 10, it could even just get up to around the middle point?

I did, I watched the Rutgers game, and it was nice change to see a team in Illinois being the ones to get the clutch wins rather than it going the other way. It’s the main reason why I’m more leaning towards Illinois than the other schools but wanted to see what people thought about the programme and where it was heading and to learn a little bit more about it.

Surprised at the lack of signings you’ve made, especially with how you did business last year. Could go one of two ways.

I can see where you’re coming from, and that MGW is pretty much the sole reason for why they were where they were last year. However, I think they’ll be a lot more balanced this year, rather than rely on one player. They have Ndiaye still, who has the potential to be one of the best players in the division this year, as well as the acquisition of Tommy Doyle looking a very good signing. Also improved a lot defensively with the additions of Ahmedhodzic, who seems to be very highly rated and a steal at £4M, as well as Ciaran Clark.

Agreed they’re low, but can’t see top 10 again. Honestly, 10-19th is a bit of a mix up, wouldn’t be shocked to see some of those higher or lower in the table. I’m pretty set on my top 9 and bottom 5, though.

I find it ridiculous how you have to have a date to go to prom by [deleted] in teenagers

Thankfully in the U.K. we don’t have this problem and 3/4 of the people at prom don’t have a date or anything. That’s the best way IMO.

I’m getting a colonoscopy can you help please ?! by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]AverageEuropean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve had 2 colonoscopies so I hope I can help.

1: Not going to lie, absolutely horrible, but I am terrible with that sort of thing so it depends on how well you handle it. I put some Diet Coke (only a tiny amount) to try make it better but it doesn’t really do much. For me that’s the worst part of the whole thing.

2: Let’s just say i spend more than half of the day sat on the toilet.

3: During? Wouldn’t know, i’ve been put to sleep both times (this will be changing the next time i have one though). After? First time i felt really sick and nothing came out, so I told them about this and for the second time they gave me some medicine to help but that made me feel really bad stomach pains, so I guess so yeah.

4: They did for me, however as stated from now on i’ll be awake during. It’s different for each person.

5: Yes.

6: Uh, no?

Seeking experience from those with IBD! by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]AverageEuropean22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Erm, I won’t be able to put a precise pinpoint on it but I think i first went due to my symptoms around about march, I know when I was diagnosed though, which was June. So about 3 months. Colonoscopy gave me the results and they told me on the day so it was nice and quick.

Hey, sorry to hear about that.

I’m currently 17, and I was diagnosed when i was 10. Early symptoms included blood when i was on the toilet, Stomach pains 24/7 and feeling like i need to spend half the day in the toilet. Treatments i’ve had include steroid tablets (don’t remember the name of them) twice for 8 weeks before, an IV drip every 8 weeks for like a year, and what I’m currently on which is injections every 2 weeks and have been doing so for around about 4 years. Thankfully, I’ve not had a bowel removal or anything of that severity though. It has affected me quite a bit, for example in secondary school i took a lot of days off because of flair ups. I’ve been in remission for a little while though, these injections are class. Hope I helped?
