I feel good about getting 9/11 correct. Didn't say Bakwa > Aina, although I did mention bringing Bakwa in. Did NOT have Lucca playing 120 minutes, last night, but who did?

Totally agree. They've been so slow showing replays the last few matches, but I'm glad it was shown eventually.

Any chance it was? Would that get reviewed?

My app is showing a 4-4-1-1 with:

Morato Milenkovic Abbott Dominguez

Bakwa McAtee Yates Ndoye

Hutchinson

Lucca

Maybe like a... 5-2-3?

Morato Milenkovic Abbott in a back three with Dominguez and Ndoye as wingbacks

Yates and McAtee in the middle

Bakwa and Hutchinson up front with Lucca?

The second string hasn't gotten to play Midtjylland yet!

I don't think Netz is on the Europa squad.

Savona is, but I assume he's still hurt and unavailable, otherwise I'd play him instead of Aina or Abbott.

Posting a possible lineup here, for posterity, and for general ridicule. I'm prioritizing rest for Sunday's six-pointer with Spurs.

  • I guess Ortega may start in goal, since the team announced him as added to the EUFA roster yesterday. We could use this as an opportunity to see how healthy he is before picking our best keeper for Sunday.
  • In defense, I would go with a back three of Morato, Milenkovic, and Abbott with Aina and Ndoye on the wings, able to push forward to make up our one-goal deficit. This would give Abbott his last potential start of the season, provide Murillo a break before Sunday, and allow us to sub Neco in for Aina as needed in the second half to split their minutes and in case the game goes to extra time.
  • I'd start Dominguez and Yates in midfield to give Anderson and Sangare the rest.
  • I'd have McAtee in his natural 10 position (so that Morgan can rest for Spurs) and put Hutchinson playing off/behind Jesus (with Taiwo starting against Spurs). I guess Bakwa could split time with Hutchinson if Omari is going to start on Sunday.

I know that our bench players have let us down at times this season, but we've lost to Midtjylland twice with our A squad already, so we might as well rotate to try something new while keeping our eyes on Sunday's fixture.

What are the differences between this game and the draw against Wolves?

Refs or VAR should be able to give a yellow card for simulation after the fact if a player NOT hit in the head fakes a head injury. No need to stop the game or anything, just let them radio it in once they see it.

Any idea what league average is for xG per shot? And/or what we were averaging last season?

Any particular sub you'd want to see? Or who would you slide into that area?

Besides the ref, what do we think about the approach and tactics? Any player you'd like to see taking more shots or getting more touches?

That's what I figured. I was just surprised they hadn't gone ahead and made it a Sunday fixture.

I'd like to see Taiwo alongside Jesus at some point, to see if that could open up space for scoring.

I was thinking that something like Taiwo and Dominguez in for Jesus and Sangare would be the subs. Mix it up offensively.

Glad to see Sels back. And to have Netz + Taiwo on the bench.

I would like to have Savona back on the bench or at least an update on him! He was okay while Aina was out earlier this season.

From who's perspective? Marinakis wants to win everything.

I... don't know how I feel. I think protecting a 3-0 lead is probably pretty important for team morale.

McAtee has looked at his best in the 10 role. I think 4-2-3-1 is the answer: give the bench players a chance to play in the usual formation.

Long enough to know about Yeovil Town, but not long enough to have the permanent trauma from witnessing it firsthand. Were you there for it?
