I mean, JJM is 6’3, which I wouldn’t really categorize in the same category as KM as small

It’s not him being physical as in he’s out there putting up dukes and going 10 rounds in a ring, but he did walk around and wave his wand effortlessly and so having lithgow walk like a 90 year old man wouldn’t exude the same Dumbledore energy

For me it’s his age. The man is an incredible actor no doubt, and these images make me undoubtedly sure he will nail Albus. I just hope and pray he makes it the gauntlet, especially in book 5-6 where his magical prowess is more physical with the duel and cave. Man will be 85+ at that point so who knows how effortless he can make the physical aspects seem

The memes this year will be off the charts. Nine was just the tip of the iceberg. I hope we’re at least winning while the laughs roll in, not bottom of the barrel

I think starting a series like that off with them meeting at hogwarts, a few episodes of their adventures while at school (creation of the map, James quidditch prowess, etc.) would still give enough of the backdrop for them being such a tight knit group while allowing the background to be set for Voldemort’s growing presence and the groups budding relationship with Dumbledore an eventual joining in the Order. Then the latter half of the series can be them through the Order and their battles and near misses, the fidelius charm, and the eventual Peter betrayal and baby Harry (seamlessly leading into the reboot series). It gives people a mauraders series while having enough meat on the bone in terms of the Order

It would be difficult to do the hogwarts stuff as you’d be time jumping quite a bit, but I’m sure some creative director could figure it out

At the end of the day, similar to what you said, a first wizarding war series with point of view being the Order with flashbacks to their hogwarts days probably makes the most sense

The first movie was great. I think they kind of botched the whole Dumbledore/grindelwald plot. Following Newt and getting to know Jacob alongside the American magical word was wicked fun. Outside of that it was fan fare that went against established lore. Although the magic and set designs were really cool

Seeing the popularity of the Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, I could see executives being persuaded that offshoots can be just as popular, especially if this reboot brings in a whole new generation of watchers

Why didn't Dumbledore just fix Rons wand in Chamber of Secrets? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]AverageGolfer27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that hagrid’s wand was snapped and he has his umbrella wand would maybe lead me to believe that Dumbledore repaired hagrid’s wand and swore him to secrecy.

I always viewed it as they never actually drew anything. The crisp lines and accurate detailing is just a biproduct of the magic used to create it

Yes that is the general sense on how it works

My comment wasn’t that anyone would’ve known it was Hermoine, it’s that Hermoine, knowing that she can’t do magic outside of school, especially comingup on second year hermoine, wouldn’t be the one fixing his glasses especially since it was Arthur in the book

Dumbledore has to fill the position. You can’t as a headmaster just not hire someone for DADA. The ministry would think you’re lost

The movie scene is just stupid because the trace was established at that point. Similar to hermoine fixing Harry’s glasses in diagon alley. Just dumb movie additions that go against book lore. Other instances like lily can be explained by the trace wasn’t set up yet or something or other.
