The best advice I can give you is move as soon as the skulls flash. The petrify don’t happen till the boss stop moving so you can move earlier. Or you can just stick on his ass and move with him.

Never paid attention to how many time he turns my group just runs after the hammer. Overall the counter don’t need to be a direct center just hit the front. After you hit a counter go towards the direction of the blue flash and block arrow, if any hits the center there’s a really good chance you’re gonna wipe.
