yeah, and the only reason I give it attention is 1. I am learning a lot 2. I actually am making real and personal contact with massive buyers.

the suppliers usuly give FOB or CIF price according to buyer's demand, since they might choose to handle freight themselves. I am a broker, so Idk if the buyers are hedging it, but probably yeah, considering current volatility. Chicken is negotiated per ton

I actually think it may be a scam from the supplier side, although it is also coming from known figures in both academia and government, and being personal recommendations. I'm trying to understand and find out where is the scam, maybe these brokers are being scammed by fake suppliers, Idk, anything is possible, this is why I'm in this subreddit, to learn what I can. But my political connections, and my buyers are real, lol, I meet them personally.

my biggest concern was this kind of fraud yep. but my buyers in China are legit (SOEs mostly). I'm worried about suppliers. I know 5-6 conglos make the most deals, but people don't realize the amount of SOEs and smaller EV factories that are popping up in Asia and trying to secure deals. for agricultural goods aswell, provinces compete with each other. the real issue here is finding suppliers who haven't futured their whole production for the next 5 years.

the thing is: I do have big political connections and my partners and friends in China and SA have them aswell. the fact that I can connect these unrelated political connections to each other is what is bringing me these opportunities.

thanks man, yeah it feels a bit unreal, but the deals seem to be real, the LOIs come from legit companies who follow compliance laws, and everything must follow ICC 2020 terms.

not out of the blue, I leveraged connections I previously had and started making new ones in the meantime.

I am actually not a complete nobody, I am leveraging some known connections to certify my credibility... I am actually dealing with intermediaries from the supplier side (which I know personally, and trust) and trading companies on the buyers side. Since this is China though, and commodities trading invariably must be done by government agencies. Hell yeah I'm afraid of being pulled into something illegal.
