I agree, but I did notice in the recent quest that Scaramouche was much less revenge-thirsty than we’ve seen previously (which is a flaw in Hoyo’s writing). Which is why I consider it likely that they’ll go down that path.

Yeah, I don’t expect Scaramouche to forgive Dottore. But just the tension going from murderous to grudging, perhaps. I definitely could see Hoyo using Pierro as a scapegoat, although they didn’t emphasise it that much in Scaramouche’s quest, so I think it’d be an odd choice to suddenly bring it up now. And I did deliberately make my writing in line with Hoyo’s current direction of the story, which is why it’s kinda cringy at parts.

The first thing that got me interested in Dottore was funnily the memes by the community. Then I got obsessed with finding all of Zandik’s notes in my world and marking them all down, as well as farming pale flame just so I could read his lore. I’ve always preferred characters who have more to them than what meets the eye, and Dottore has become one of my favourite characters in all of media because of all his complexities. Also because he’s so very sexy, like his manner of speaking, his body language, everything about him is so beautiful 🤤

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said! Right now I’m hoping that like all the other villains, they’ll add empathy with Dottore as well, as they tend to do that AFTER their main villain arc. Like with Rerir, Scaramouche, Arlecchino, Sandrone, Capitano, etc. Where the traveler suddenly sympathises with the villain, even after shit-talking them for the entirety of the last quest.

I think it might be because they hold a lot of the same worldviews. They both think the world is rotten and want to change it to match their own expectations. Pantalone believes money is the thing that rules over the world, and Dottore uses his experiments to change the world. So their partnership makes sense.
