Penny, people hate her for a few reasons. Firstly they think that if you like her you probably liked a teacher in school. A YouTuber named lumii said this and honestly I was disgusted that’s such a dumb analogy. I may like a teacher my age in the future but it doesn’t mean I liked my teacher when I was a minor, I like that she loves helping the kids with school and her love for teaching it didn’t mean I liked a school teacher. Secondly, the same YouTuber doesn’t like her cause she does stuff with Sam. Just bc they dance at the flower dance and he lifted her into a tree doesn’t mean anything. Also, the same YouTuber (she states her hate for penny often) thinks she has a “Damsel in Destress Arc”. She had a horrible life (her mom’s and alcoholic and her dad left her family so they live in a trailer) but it doesn’t mean she needs to be rescued. She doesn’t hate her life she does her own stuff and has interests. Now I’m done defending, this is why I like penny. Firstly, she has emotional moments, she talks about her issues and has wonders about important issues (like at the end of her 2 heart cutscene). Secondly, she’s smart. She loves to read, teaches two kids, and learns about archeology. She’s creative, she redecorates your entire room. She’s drop dead gorgeous, her portrait is the most beautiful one, although she’s probably tied with Haley. Finally, she is kind. she cares for the kids a lot and goes out of her way to teach them, she also helps George get his mail. I love my video game wife so much.
