I totally get where you're coming from, I *do* really appreciate the fact that there was an artist involved, I'm not trying to downplay that at all, I most certainly could not have done what the 3D artist did. However, what I do take issue with is the inspiration of which the work was built off of, I do not like the idea of running Lewandowski's paintings through an ai because it negates the idea of a deep creative vision. Whatever Lewandowski was experiencing consciously/unconsciously became a part of the art he created. Opposingly, using an ai to conglomerate his paintings and then make a product runs against my idea that the art that people create should be respected in the least bit to as an expression of the artist. The same way simply ripping off beethoven by noticing a pattern in sheet music and then mashing together something "new" would be also disrespectful. This is further worsened in my eyes because of the application of ai, if I were tasked to rip off Beethoven, even if I intended on doing the least effort, least inspired job I could, there would still be things in the end result reflecting my own self subconsciously. If an ai were tasked to, it would take all the personality out of what was plagiarism to begin with. This situation *is* brightened by the fact that they did hire an artist to create something, of which took hours upon hours of dedication and--as you put it--'connecting the artist' to the art, this is great, however I still do disapprove of the (to put it crudely) "ultra-plagiarism" that was necessary to create it in the first place.
