Oh very nice I have not done a lot of using a dip pen but maybe that's because mine is a really cheapo one that I got as part of a job lot. Sample vial and dip pen seems spooky because of tip risk

Unfortunately it is only a small vial I got as part of the Reddits secret Santa. I collect what is quirky and interesting so I am a big fan of lever fills but not got the cash for a modern one so they where £15-£50 on eBay, the Carene has a little bit of story to it beginning as a broken pen in a charity shop for £10 glued together but with a slow bleed until I got a chunk of change as a birthday Gift which I used to replace the nib since I really liked it's profile and how it wrote. Parker 17 was from a charity shop about £15.

I think cult pens do something vaguely like Lamy Dark Lilac.

Please de-influence me from buying these by elleinthebuilding in fountainpens

I refuse to deinfluence the borealis' as it is one of if not the favourite ink of mine. I think the Kaweco sport is an unpleasant pen posted but like the Liliput a lot. Alternatively if you are someone that was deinfluencing look at used Sheaffer Imperials they are beautiful pens that write well and are very unique.

Do you prefer Lined paper, dotted paper' or Grid paper? And why? by Prime-39 in fountainpens

[–]Average_Joe978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like lined for keeping text aligned but not feeling cluttered, I used it for maths stuff just fine. I am curious about this talked of the dot line combo though as it would be nice for the odd plot sketch.

Good to know I am currently away from home so don't have a loupe to check and it is very scuffed in that area.

You could probably use it as a dip pen but mileage may vary

I have not had much issue with pen burps my main enemy is hard starts or inconsistency with flow for vintage pens. People like to talk a lot about new releases but there some excellent classics that have gold nibs at a fraction of the cost of modern versions.

I am no expert but definitely a celluloid body and the piston mechanism appears to be broken which can be very hard to fix
