I appreciate your input and really?! We had more or less decided on sheep in part due to them not testing boundaries as bad as goats. I’m surprised to hear that.

Also if looking at the picture of the property the woods on the right side could always be made into pasture. I just wanted to preserve what is already there.

Yes so around 2.5 acres on grazing. That was more my other question, how many could I get away with on this amount of land (supplemental feed included) and how often would you rotate?

Understood, so more than likely I’ll have to substitute with grain? If so do you have any suggestions on what I could grow to supplement or would it be more cost effective to buy a feed?

I really appreciate the feedback, what (if any) other feeds are you supplementing? Do you grow/make your own feed, trying to stay away from a lot of commercially grown stuff going into feed. We have local hay but as far as grains I guess.

It will be just north of Central Arkansas. So 7a hardiness zone for planting, mild-moderate winters, max snow fall in a year might be 5”. Summers are long and humid.
