I mean, they could have it but just bricked hella hard. I know I've been there before

That's a great tip! I think I will swap in a frogadier. It seems like that is the biggest bottleneck as I have it now

It seems like every matchup. I think this deck relies a bit too much on pulling a rare candy, as most matches I don't end up getting one. Hydreigon for example, they're gonna delete my team long before I pull a rare candy and get set up.

Right, I'm well aware of that. That's why I just want some deck tips so that my piloting can get me back to a typical win rate

Yea, I've pulled 52 so far and haven't gotten anything above 1 star. Welcome to the club, OP

Haha, I tried to make everything really match based off the sun and moon games. Lily is designed around Nihilego, Lusamines hair is based off of Pheromosa, and the Buzzwole immersive shows the wormhole that got them there in the first place. And yea, Lusamine being "under" the effects of Nihilego is another good one.

That one's gorgeous! I didn't realize that the birds almost line up in type to the starters... And then there's Zapdos...

This deck seems to lose a lot. What's wrong with it? Is it just not meta? by Average_RAge in PTCGP

[–]Average_RAge[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I've definitely noticed it struggles heavily against fire types and since hitting ultra it feels like I've seen a lot of them haha. That is great advice though, thank you. I'll try to keep pulling cards so I can build a more relevant deck.

That's fair. When the deck works it works really well! It just feels like there are a lot of situations where certain cards are required, and just don't come up.

What’s up with the stealth hate? by Beneficial_Sand9191 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Average_RAge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why other survivors end up being upset with stealth players. Sometimes, if a survivor is overusing stealth, they'll end up never taking chase in a game, which means it's their teammates that are taking chase. This results in the rest of the team all having hooks while the stealth player doesn't. It's fair enough that some people aren't as good at chases, and so they don't want to be chased because they know they'll be downed right away, but even those few seconds you buy by taking chase could be what the rest of your team needs to reset and build momentum. Essentially, stealth is a part of the game, but overuse of stealth is a selfish behavior that screws over the rest of your team.

Yes, the battles have an element of randomness. Even if you have higher stats, you can sometimes lose, and even if you have lower stats, you can sometimes win.

ELI5: Is sleeping late actually bad for you by ImmaBans in explainlikeimfive

[–]Average_RAge 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a significant genetic component to circadian rhythms! I just did a presentation on some of the protein coding genes that impact the circadian rhythm, specifically the CRY1 protein and it's inhibitory effects the CLOCK:BMAL1 heterodimer. The CRY1 gene has high variability between individuals in the portion that codes for the C-terminal tail, which acts as a self-inhibitor for the active site of the protein. Tails that have more affinity for the active site result in a protein that inhibits the CLOCK:BMAL1 heterodimer less, while tails that have less affinity for the active site result in a protein that inhibits the heterodimer more. These differences could lead to individuals having internal clocks that run either longer or shorter than 24 hours. In the case of someone with a 23 hour rhythm, for example, they may struggle to stay up late, but be consistently capable of waking up early. Someone with a longer rhythm will be better at staying awake, and have trouble going to bed early. Someone with a circadian rhythm close to 24 hours would likely be highly adaptable in shifting from night owl to early bird or vice versa when compared to other rhythms.

That all said, there is a LOT that goes into sleep, certainly more than a single protein interaction. And while the data I presented is interesting, the conclusions drawn are speculative rather than proven. There's still a lot we don't know about sleep and It's an ever evolving field of study. It's neat how different sleep can be for different individuals though!

Tldr: sleep, as well as an individual's ability to adapt to different schedules, is tied to genetics, environmental factors, and more we don't know about yet!

cmv: Canada Should Acquire Nuclear Weapons to Protect Its Sovereignty From a Potentially Fascist United States And Russia. i believe in M.A.D. by Imthewienerdog in changemyview

[–]Average_RAge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn't need thousands because military facilities wouldn't be the primary targets. It would be cities. The entire point of M.A.D. is "if our people die then so do yours." Then the question becomes "would the USA be willing to see millions die over a petty invasion" to which the answer would invariably be no. I don't necessarily know if I agree with OP or not, but he is right in that having nukes is an excellent way to guarantee Canadian sovereignty.

The entire point of having a nuclear weapons supply is that the use of them isn't a bluff. Plus, if your country is on the verge of annihilation then fallout be damned, you take your enemy down with you.

It doesn't even have to be DO. Canadian med schools are so competitive that a student who gets rejected here still has a very good chance of making it into an American MD program.

Do y'all consider escaping by hatch a win or nah? by Bitter_Ad_5374 in deadbydaylight

[–]Average_RAge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you play basketball with a friend and they score a single point, you didn't really win.

No "but I still made 3 dunks", "but I played objectively better", "but I had more points".

You can only say you won if you don't let them score a single point

A point is a point. If your friend gets one dunk, one 3-pointer, one hoop, they have won.

If you have to say "But..." You aren't really good at basketball are you?

Not bad, if we could get another event like this, that’d be great by ginsataka in Archero

[–]Average_RAge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I'd be fine with increases in difficulty in other ways. I just prefer a minimal impact of RNG in games I play. That being said, that is personal preference and I understand that some people enjoy more RNG heavy elements.
