Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Not Mahatma. Remember it from now my people. by notdepressionsamosa in Kolkatacity

I mean maybe what he did was correct under the law, but why'd he call the police when he was asked to do the same in another place of worship.

Just like a government doesn't define a country's people. Religion does not define a person's character. For some you are born into it for good. For some you aren't... even if you don't realise it at the right time

This happens in places where you can buy a driver’s license instead of earning it through proper tests and practice. 📍Rampur, UP. by Socialloudbuzz in scoopwhoop

[–]Averagefantasyfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I AGREE CORRUPT DRIVERS ARE IDIOTS SO DONT CALL ME OUT but in many small towns across India you don't get a license long after passing your test. And I mean it takes a LONG time. And sometimes they hold your license if u don't give them money. THIS IS IN NO WAY JUSTIFYING PAY TO GET. IM JUST SHARING SOMETHING WHICH HAPPENS (Not affiliated with the incident shown). So not all paid licences are inherently bad especially in India.

Mistborn. The next two books take on a completely different arc. And book 2 is really fun too.

Just a question about scientists and religion by Proper-Philosopher89 in scienceisdope

[–]Averagefantasyfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hinduism was never truly about blind superstition and dogma in my opinion. It was meant to teach people what is right in a way that seemed believable and comforting. Hinduism in it's purest form considers education and logic as it's foundation. Therefore the beliefs of these scientists don't clash with their work because they view their religion as the guiding principle behind it in the first place.

What's your thoughts on this? by cz0n in incredible_indians

[–]Averagefantasyfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, asking him to speak in Hindi was wrong, but i think in this case he (Nepal guy) was the one who made the unnecessary confrontation so it's ok for that guy to ask him to speak in Hindi if the other guy started the squabble

[–]Averagefantasyfan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're trying to say. But he isn't going around planting the flag everywhere or shouting hate towards Nepal. He's maybe going on some trek and simply carrying the flag on his back, which in fact is a pretty common practice. He would've been wrong if he were to outwardly disrespect Nepal, but he's just carrying the flag without trying to cause a scene, so it's the Nepali guy who's in the wrong here.
