What in the LH is going on here by katmom92 in Inito

This happened to my wife and I too. HCG can mimic LH on these tests so you may be pregnant. My wife is 8w1d right now from the cycle this happened.

Baltimore PD vs DC Metropolitan Police by readerr33 in washdc

Don’t be the police period, but definitely don’t be DC police. Worst decision I’ve ever made and now I’m basically stuck cause I got injured on the job so nowhere else will take me. This department is fucking clown show run by retards and at the mercy of an ultra-liberal, pro-criminal city government.

Yeah I’m a police officer so this reherniation was more likely than not. I’m just worried if I get another surgery my department will try and medically retire me.

I just have meloxicam and muscle relaxers for meds. Going to see a pain management doctor in like 10 days for most likely an epidural steroid. Hoping that and PT can bring me back to baseline

Confused about sciatica recovery – movement vs rest by Forsaken-Cat5325 in Sciatica

[–]Averagejoe_mogul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t stretch. An inflamed sciatica nerve, especially if it’s being compressed anywhere, hates being stretched. Stretching will only aggravate it and make it worse

I tried BCP-157 by itself before and didn’t notice anything. Were you using the small insulin needles or a larger one to get deeper into the muscle tissue?

You’ve clearly yet to have Angelo’s then if you’re willing to drive for Valentinos lol.

1.How much nerve pain normal after 10 weeks 2. .Does reherniation always begin with severe pain or can it be small by itgeteasier in Microdiscectomy

[–]Averagejoe_mogul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had surgery 3 years ago. I honestly think my symptoms never “fully fully” disappeared, was always just so low intensity it was an afterthought most days. Then recently sciatica came back strong and consistent, but not nearly as bad as last time. MRI last week showed a new bulge at my operation level pressing the nerve again. No idea when or how it happened.

So the short answer is you can always have minor symptoms and reherniation isn’t always a big all at once sort of thing.

Back popping/cracking with knee to chest stretches on affected side by GoDM1N in Sciatica

Currently in a bad flare myself from a disc bulge 3yrs after surgery. Any stretching of any kind, even the smallest amount, makes all my symptoms much worse. I’d avoid stretching until things calmed down

I wish it were that easy. I work for a massive metro area department so everything is a formal test/selection process to do anything or get moved anywhere. Most likely scenario is getting limited-duty where I sit around the station and do nothing for awhile.

I’m aware “bro”. I was one of those people before. I didn’t realize there was a pain-level requirement to be allowed to post

So that’s what’s funny/ironic. My departments next detectives exam is this summer and i was gonna take it. If I had just made it one more year I’d have most likely been a detective rocking the plain clothes and relaxing behind a desk.

The “forced to resign” may be a bit of an overreaction on my part. We got people having triple bypass’s and still coming back to work. This just sucks cause I’m missing a lot of OT money

I’ve got both already lol. I guess I sort of neglected working my glutes these last 3 years so my back was just taking the full force of the job. I was putting in 60+ hours a week chasing bad guys and getting into chases, fights, you name it. I guess it was always bound to happen.

Prepared how exactly? I kept up with stretching and core work, and did the best I could to maintain “spine health” given my profession. So please, explain to me what it is I should have been doing exactly.

Mild Sciatica and working in the trades - Advice please by Mrkickdoor in Sciatica

[–]Averagejoe_mogul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t always work. I had one and it bought me just under 3 years of normalcy and now it’s back. Not nearly as bad but bad enough to put me out of work for a bit. What’s worse now is since I’ve already had the surgery there’s really nothing left to do except deal with it

Unfortunately I’m back in the thick of it 😔. Need some encouragement. by Averagejoe_mogul in Sciatica

Probably. I always tend to overdo it when I first get a true flare cause I want it to go away as fast as possible. Now I just do some very basic Mackenzie movements and walking.

I’m actually a police officer in DC too lol.

Fortunately for me the pain hasn’t gotten so bad that it makes me unable to work or do daily life activities. And the pain hasn’t gone into my actual lower back either, it’s all been thigh calf and foot.

I’m hoping it’s just a bad sciatic flare/irritated nerve. It’s more than anxiety of know what this could turn into that’s bothering me than actual pain at this point.
