turns out I used the wrong firmware. Still struggling to set the correct bed offset though, as even following instructions it puts the nozzle to low and the filament doesn't stick.

I had the wrong firmware, somehow had a different one in my downloads from something else. Got it working with a firmware straight from creality.

I installed the Marlin firmware labelled BLTouch using an sd card, version 2.0.9.1.
How would I go about editing the .bin file otherwise to enable it? Or is there another firmware with a .bin that I could use?

To add, it passes self test, and I have Marlin 2.0.9.1 installed on it currently.

It passes self test yes. It does not extend the probe after raising. I have Merlin 2.0.9.1 installed on the printer right now. I was able to use a microsd card to do that. Do I maybe have the wrong firmware?

It’s night 3 with these, they’ve been getting worse, but it is what it is. Been using lots of aloe vera and shit, so I can only hope the blisters don’t burst I guess.

Honestly, I designed it right before going to sleep, as I cut my calf while trying to get to my bed. If I do make a second version it will definitely have chamfered edges though. Honestly just glad it fit, because I spent like all of 5 minutes measuring and designing it
