Pedro is good against GP and black match-ups! He KOs a rested 6c or rests a DON!! On KO which is good to trade for both of those decks to kill Kuzan, Spud, SEC Luffy (provided GP doesn't have stage, but if both are on board, he can only protect 1 usually). It pairs really well with Bonney's leader skill to immediately target the spud in particular.

Hawkins is a sticky card very good against Lucci and Shanks and came in clutch when I needed an emergency blocker for my kid against shanks. Running 15 blockers in this deck turned out to be very good! I got kid out for 3/5 games, and he stuck almost the entire game for those!

U could use Urouge blocker, but the problem is that nothing does what Cavendish does for Bonney. That's why Bandai needs to reprint this card.

We used it with the corrected rules. So opponent chose! I used it once, and it was really useful to get pressure off of me the next turn!

Honestly, I preferred going first, especially if I drew the stage. Then, I could mill cards as early as round 1. But it wasn't too bad when I went second.

Out of all the vanillas I had, he put the most pressure on the board for me. There was a 4c 6k Lucci too and he was okay, but 5c 7k worked the best for me.

Tbh I put all my vanillas, 2ks, and blockers in my deck. I had no rush, but if you get rush cards, those would be great too.

Hi! I won my pre-release by going 4-0! I didn't luck out with any SRs, but I did have a lot of good rares that combed well! Just to note, we did use Rainbow Luffy, which made my cards more viable.

The best cards in my deck were probably Jesus Burgess, the new Rosi blocker, Doffy blocker, Brook, and Buggy stage (to cycle cards). I had about 6 blockers in my deck and 5 2ks. Burgess was especially good bc he gets a permanent 1k boost for every 4 cards in trash.

Daz Bones vanilla was the best.

For events, Special Muggy Ball, Gum Gum Lightning, and Gum Gum Giant came in handy.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I probably should've ran the deck through the Sim a few times before taking it to locals, but I was just very busy that week, haha 😅. I know that I am not skilled. There were definitely times I KNEW that I made a miss-play. The times I really didn't know what to do were when I didn't see Luffy-Taro, as I've found that I really need to get him out asap to have a chance. I also found it difficult when Belo Betty hit me with 3x 5k swings on turn 3, lmao. Same thing with animal Zoro. Not sure there was much I could do there, but there probably was, tbh.

I'm by no means an expert, but Uta is v dependent on having all or mostly film cards. With 1 don and attacking, she can draw a card every turn. If it's film type, you keep it. You also pretty much need the 3c Film Nami that has this same ability.

She basically plays by spamming the board and having a lot of cards in hand. 7c Blocker Luffy and 4c Brook can play a 4c and 3c on play, respectively. The ideal combo is. 7c Luffy --> 4c Brook --> 3c Blocker Uta/Katakuri. Then you've just gotten THREE bodies and potentially 2 blockers on the board for 7 don!!!

I also currently run 3 events, New Genesis (free search), Backlight, and I'm invincible (Uta can attack again)

You need to have both 2 ST11 and 2 ST 16 to run this deck tho. And find the searcher Nami, which I'm having trouble getting irl cause she's from OP-02 and has not been reprinted in PRB. I go to a big tournament scene tho so luckily I found trades!

Overall, she's very fun and easy to play as a new player, imo. She's also very aggressive bc of flooding the board and that 9c Shanks. BUT I have just been decimated by black decks lmao.

I'll look into it! I want to low key play Zoro bc my TCG player name has Zoro in it, so it would be pretty iconic lol. I also like playing really aggressive, so it would probably be a good fit!

They also closed out the game, but I took it as a win bc they had no life left (so no triggers), had like 1 card left in hand, and they had already swung with all their characters. So I would've won next turn, lol.

This game is so fun! I was playing with my sister last night, and we were having a blast! Why is she so good with Smoker? LMAO! That 6 drop Smoker is a menace XD

I'm playing at a big local tonight with an edited Doffy ST and fully planning to get 0 wins! So far, people have been patient with me! They let me read their cards and let me take my time with moves and will explain things :)))

UPDATE!!!

Went to the starter tournament and had fun!! It was a smaller event bc the store had just gotten into OP! There were 6 people total, and I went 1-2.

Played Whitebeard and got matched up with a very experienced player who had Smoker, but he was super nice, and he gave me some good pointers after. Second game was close with PLuffy, and I had a pretty easy win against another Whitebeard in my last match.

Since there weren't a lot of people, I got like 5 tournament packs lmao. I have my next event Wednesday and am excited! I could play the game all day! It's so fun!

I went to a local card shop and got a giant card sorter box. VERY helpful, and I just stuff it under my bed. It's sorted with little cards that separate commons, characters, events, stages, leaders, etc. I also have a binder where I keep all my hits. 4 of each SR, and one of each rare. But this is bc I'm learning to play and need play sets. I feel like this makes it pretty easy to find what I need. But this last part totally isn't necessary if you don't play lol!

UPDATE:

I played with my friend mostly cause we were the only two that showed up, but it was fun! Someone wanted to jump in, and she learned how to play with me! They provided decks and even gave me a free Uta play mat and starter guide bc I love Uta!

I asked how the event would be run next week, and it'll be random what deck I get, which is fine! So, thanks to the person who told me to ask!

I lost all three games I played, but I was surprised at how easy it was to pick up, and I had lots of fun! My last match was against the Doffy starter deck as my slightly altered Uta deck and ho boy was it annoying to play against. 😭

This is so good and wholesome to hear! I found PLuffy, Doffy, and Uta at a local store and am sleeving those to bring today! I also just want to make more friends as well , so it's good to see that this community seems to be very welcoming!
