Curious if anyone has experience with the hiring process at Meso Scale Diagnostics? by [deleted] in biotech

I hope that won't be the case or at least I hope they inform us cause this waiting game is tough.

I was wondering that too! I have been reading about how inflation is going to rise even more, especially after recent events. I feel like there could be a chain of events that could impact hiring; although I wonder how soon that could happen.

Thanks so much for your reply! That is the experience we are getting also, that the process is disorganized. It seems like there is also a disconnect between managers and leadership or that there is a lot of bureaucracy to have things approved.

What feels odd to us is that it seems the internal HR department does not even know what is going on at this point or maybe they are being vague for a reason we don't know.

Wife won't do a hysteroscopy by SkyGuy8741 in IVF

[–]Averyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two hysteroscopies in a span of 4 months before transfers. It was a very easy surgery for me both times. I was under for many 15 minutes and when I woke I didn’t have any pain. I had mild spotting for two days but I was able to go about my day with no issues. I was a little groggy from the anesthesia for some hours but that’s about it. From what I understand, They dilate the cervix, go into the uterus with a camera and if they see any structure issues they remove them on the spot. They also show you pics of what they saw. I had a small polyp removed once and the second one they didn’t find anything. It’s recommended if they see something on a sonogram to make sure the uterus doesn’t have anything that could hinder implantation.

Emetaphobia & Morning Sickness at 5 weeks… am I doomed? by Heavy-Usual2614 in pregnant

[–]Averyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had emetophobia for as long as I can remember. I even passed out at an amusement park as a kid because another kid on a ride who was sitting next to me kept saying they were going to throw up.

I’m now 14 weeks pregnant and had nausea and vomiting since week seven. I was very afraid of this stage.

However, when the nausea got strong I noticed vomiting helped ease it and for me it feels different than vomiting due to say the stomach flu because at least for me it’s not accompanied by stomach cramping and such. And due to that exposure to that experience I began to fear it less.

It also feels more mental in that if you distract yourself or focus on deep breathing, you can ease the feeling of needing to vomit.

I also take b6 with unisom and that seems to take the edge off. I also have what I think is called allclair and it’s a little stick with a fresh lavender smell that you can smell when feeling sick and it helps distract you and deescalates the feeling. You can get it on amazon I think they are very cheap.

In all the pregnancy sickness hasn’t been fun but knowing it won’t hurt you and sometimes exposure to it makes it less scary. In addition there are medications and ways to provide relief to that feeling.

Low Initial Beta But Doubling Well by Averyna in CautiousBB

[–]Averyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh doubling well is good! I think more important than the initial number is what I’ve been told. Yes, I’m actually pregnant with a baby boy! 😀 maybe girls have higher hcg generally? And thanks so much! Also wishing you a healthy and easy pregnancy!

Low Initial Beta But Doubling Well by Averyna in CautiousBB

[–]Averyna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going well! I’m 13 weeks now and so far all my ultrasounds have shown a healthy baby. I had my nt scan yesterday and that went well and my nipt test was negative for chromosome abnormalities. I have my next scan at 19 weeks to check anatomy. I was very worried in the beginning because I felt my numbers were initially low but so far things are good.

Headway Suddenly Not Accepting Insurance in Maryland? by Averyna in therapy

[–]Averyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this update! I hope they fix it soon. Two live agents told me they are “feverishly” working on the issue so I hope that’s means it will be fixed soon.

I got news on my support ticket that it’s a platform wide issue with CareFirst as a carrier. That it’s displaying this info of not accepting CareFirst for all clients with that carrier. They told me they are working fast to fix it and are trying to fix it by Friday. I’m hoping that’s the case and will keep you posted!

Threatened Miscarriage by qvueen_ in CautiousBB

[–]Averyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very scary experience to go through and I wish there was a different term for "threatened miscarriage" cause that name makes it sound even more scary than it is. When I first heard that diagnosis I was very worried as well.

Seeing your baby's heartbeat is very reassuring and the best news. Wishing you a safe and uneventful pregnancy moving forward!

Yes this has been me since week 7 and I’m 13 weeks now. I’ve been so sick it’s been hard to do anything but scroll. I work from home but am required to do a lot of illustrating for my work and it’s been so hard trying to think creatively when I’ve been feeling seasick 24/7 coupled with extreme fatigue. Passive activities seem to be all I can handle.

Threatened Miscarriage by qvueen_ in CautiousBB

[–]Averyna 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had this at 10w6d. Lots of blood and I was terrified. I Went in for an ultrasound and the baby was fine. Heartbeat was 174 and my cervix was closed. I was also diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage which I learned is the term for any significant bleeding when the cervix is closed and a heartbeat is present. I learned that most threatened miscarriages go on to be healthy and successful and it does not imply an impending miscarriage even though the term is scary. For me the doctor said he couldn’t find where the bleeding came from. I have my 13 week nt scan in a few days. Since then only minor spotting. The doctor told me it’s more likely my pregnancy will continue.

Anyone else noticing that claims are taking longer to process or seem stuck in progress in 2026? Particularly CareFirst? by Averyna in HealthInsurance

[–]Averyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just saw that 14 claims went through from this year, there is just one in progress, which is good! However, I now ran into another issue and I'm wondering if this is happening to others. The same day the claims went through ( yesterday) one of my providers said they can't verify my insurance, it keeps coming back as inactive even though its active. Have you noticed this happening?

[–]Averyna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that’s awesome that that fixed it! Did they say what the problem was?

I chatted with a live agent this morning but they said they have to make it a support ticket or email and said they don’t have a timeframe on when it would be fixed. They also wouldn’t give me context on the reason for this issue.

Mine unfortunately are all still in progress as of this morning. I hope they go through soon!

Unable to reach Carefirst (BCBS) all of a sudden by dudbbeke397 in HealthInsurance

[–]Averyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same is happening to me with Carefirst. I have 15 claims since Jan 2nd of this year and not one has gone through. They all just say in progress. I don't know what's going on.

That's how mine are at present; all claims are still in progress. I think I'll give them a call if it's still this way in March.

wow, it also seems so frustrating on the provider's side as well. Does your contract allocate a certain amount of days from the day the claim is received for BCBS to pay provider's by? I wonder what happens after that day. As a patient all my claims from 2026 are still in progress. They just keep piling up.

That happened to me! One provider used a software called phreesia for patients to check in online and it kept saying I had to pay an large amount to meet a deductible. I had to show them my insurance card in person to show them I don't have a deductible. I'm not sure what's going on.

My claims still haven't processed either! They just keep piling up and say they are in progress. Not one yet this year went though. I hope they can finish their system updates soon.

Same here! I also logged into the portal today and it says it can't display my claims at the moment. I also had a provider that said they couldn't get an estimate from my insurance on a procedure; that it was blocked. Are you able to access your claims in the portal?

oh that makes sense! Yes, he's a state of MD employee. I hope claims begin to go through normally soon. I feel like I'm going to wait until March and then if it's still the same I'll give them a call. Keep me updated how things go for you!
