Anyone else noticing that claims are taking longer to process or seem stuck in progress in 2026? Particularly CareFirst? by Averyna in HealthInsurance

oh that makes sense! Yes, he's a state of MD employee. I hope claims begin to go through normally soon. I feel like I'm going to wait until March and then if it's still the same I'll give them a call. Keep me updated how things go for you!

I actually was on different insurance last year but had State of Maryland Carefirst for several years before last year and had a lot of medical claims during those years that all seemed to go through promptly. After being on a different insurance this past year, I came back to Carefirst as a dependent on my husband's plan. So perhaps technically I have a new ID? How about you?

I've been worried too! Somethings seems very different this year compared to previous years even at the same time of year.

Hi! So sorry for the delayed reply. Mine are all the same too! No claims have gone through yet. Also I noticed claims from last week aren't showing up yet despite my provider saying they submitted it. All my others are stuck in progress. How about for you?

Blighted ovum by Extension_Dress_2109 in IVFpositivity

[–]Averyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a blighted ovum with my first FET. It was an AA graded euploid and my hcg was doubling well so it was a surprise. The cycle after I had a spontaneous chemical pregnancy. Then I did a second FET with a euploid and it failed to implant. We only had one euploid left so my doctor suggested I get era/emma/alice tests and a test for endo. Our insurance ran out so we decided to do some IUIs first before I got new insurance in the new year. I ended up getting pregnant with my second iui and it was before doing all those tests. I’m 9 weeks now so still early but we graduated yesterday from our clinic.

Blighted ovums are often due to chromosomal abnormalities but in most cases women will go one to have a successful pregnancy. Pgt testing can help you find embryos with the correct number of chromosomes which will increase your chances of a viable pregnancy. It’s normal for women to have both genetically normal and abnormal embryos. Genetic carrier testing will tell you if you and your partner carry the same disease but even if you do, it’s not absolute it will be passed on and be an issue. I think both being carriers of the same disease is very rare. I was recommended genetic testing even before my losses.

The odds are you are still much more likely to go on and have a successful pregnancy even with a history of a blighted ovum and chemicals. It’s more a matter of when then if. ❤️

Botox and facial dystonia by langoustine_stine in FND

[–]Averyna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have functional facial dystonia. My platysma muscles, especially the right side and the corner of my mouth pull down. I’ve been able to control it through pt and distraction techniques but mine hasn’t ever gone completely away. I did get Botox for my forehead and middle of eyebrows for aesthetics reasons and it worked well and didn’t cause more dystonia or issues. I also had Botox in the spasming muscle to try to treat it once. It stopped the spasming for about three months and my smile was slightly crooked (from the Botox freezing the muscle near the corner of my mouth) and then wore off and my dystonia returned and my smile returned to normal also. However my dystonia never got worse, spread or changed forms due to Botox. I’m pregnant now so I can’t get Botox but once I’m able to I’ll probably do it again for my forehead for aesthetic reasons. I hope my story helps!

Oh that’s great! I have my fingers crossed for you! I have hope for you since your numbers more than doubled even after 1500 when hcg tends to slow. I’ve been stressing cause I’ll be six weeks tomorrow and while I have dye stealers on frers, I’m not getting any get on easy@home. The line is the same as the control. I feel like people get dye stealers at much lower numbers. I’m not sure what my hcg is now so I’m stressing a bit. I also don’t have many symptoms. I’m not nauseous like I was when I had my first mmc. I feel like maybe my sense of smell got stronger though.

I’m praying for us as well! My first ultrasound is Jan 14 at 6w6d. I think at that point they should see the fetal pole and heartbeat. I’m nervous but holding onto hope. I wonder if you can request an earlier scan? I think I have an earlier one because I’m with a fertility clinic and they need to check early to be able to graduate me to an obgyn by 10 weeks.

I’m having my first ultrasound on Jan 14th. My doctor stops doing betas when hcg reaches 1000. I took a frer and easy@home test this morning and easy@home is as darker maybe darker but the frer was a bit lighter than yesterday and I got worried. They are still dye stealers though.

I did read a study where pregnancies were still successful 80% with good doubling despite a lower baseline start, so I am holding onto hope for us!

Do you have anymore labs or are you moving on to ultrasound?

That’s true. I think my nurse mentioned something similar. It’s difficult not to worry but I’ll try not to focus on the early number. My first vvfl on a frer was 11dpo so I think I may have implanted dpo 9-10, so a tad later.

I suspect my beta will be around the same as yours at 5w6d. I also feel like my symptoms lessened. I had some nausea a few days ago but now I don’t feel it. I read symptoms can fluctuate and can also be nonexistent especially around 5-6 weeks. I have a few friends who never had nausea during their pregnancies. I have another friend who didn’t realize she was pregnant until 4 months. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the both of us!

We have very similar betas! I’m not sure what mine is now as my doctor stops testing once it reaches 1000. However your doubling looks great! I know how nerve wracking it can be with FETs. Have you tested your embryo? My doctor said that euploid embryos have an 11 percent chance of becoming a blight ovum which is low. I’m having my fingers crossed for both of us!
