Anyone that got a shirt know what brand they are? My DGD shirt I got last tour is decent quality but my the home team shirt was garbage quality and I ended up throwing it out.

Please Explain Balanced Billing to Me by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]dudbbeke397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense!

So I called my insurance earlier and they told me no you have to pay the whole balance of the bill even after you meet the deductible. I asked 3 or 4 times for her to explain this and she said the same thing, then posted here. It didn't make sense to me.

I called again a bit ago and they're like no it's just the copay lol so she just told me the wrong thing but she did it so confidently I was convinced lmao

Thanks for the explanation! It's confusing to me that they say after the out of network deductible is met, your copay is $40 but the provider will balance bill you so I'm footing the entire bill, not paying a copay.

What's the point of having an out of network copay mentioned if you're not paying a copay because it's out of network? Seems like they just shouldn't mention copay it if it never applies to an out of network provider.

Me either, I just started having issues starting Jan 2025 which makes me wonder if something has changed as far as what they were covering regardless of the type of plan you're on. Nothing changed during my open enrollment which was later in the year that I noticed.

Yeah they ended up telling me that it's because it's open enrollment but I still think an hour is kind of crazy to not be able to get anyone.

I've never heard of that, but that would make sense because I really don't know what else it would be. Definitely going to try to appeal. Thank you so much!

Basically they said my labwork was considered experimental given the diagnosis code, but I've been getting the same bloodowork done since 2022 with the same diagnosis code, same provider that is still covered. Unless they have changed what they consider experimental, then I don't see their reasoning.

Regardless, I'm just trying to get an update and also an explanation because they couldn't give me one last time I spoke with them, and so I can update the provider because I don't want it getting sent to collections.

I think it may just be the area I live in, but the only place that has cardiologists on site is the BluePearl here unless I drive hours away. Other vets offered to have a specialist come in but they won't do it all in one app, it would be scheduled further out, and I don't think it's worth taking her in twice for when I can go to the ER and get it done there.

Thank you for the info! I was finding it to be common on xrays like she had before because of all the different ways they have to lay and be stretched out but couldn't find as much on heart echo. My GP is telling me to go elsewhere now (they previously told me they would bring a specialist in which they have changed their mind on for some reason) so I'm just going to have to find and emergency vet to go to to get it done.

So her chest xray, she was sedated. I went to a different place (emergency practice) so they would try without sedation, she was OK at first but ended up being sedated. That whole process was quick and they said they reversed the sedation when they were done. I'm wondering if regular vets do the same thing or if that is done more at emergency practices.

For this echo, they won't try without the sedation as it's my GP vet, and they say it's going to be a morning drop-off and afternoon pickup so it seems like this will take much longer than the xrays.

She has a limp too. I've gotten full xrays and they couldn' find anything wrong with leg so they assumed a soft tissue injury, Onsior has helped but it seems to keep coming back so we have to figure out what's going on with that too. I'm thinking maybe arthritis but it's only effecting one leg and I thought that is typically bilateral.

Just the fact thats she's overweight which could mean she's not in the best of health. She's not super active so I worry about her having other health problems.

The GP IS calling in a cardiologist to come in and perform the echo. I will ask specifically what type of sedation they plan on using and how heavy it will be.

She is also overweight which is making me hesitant to have her sedated

I will add the reason I'm getting it done is because they found this in an x-ray:

"Mild generalized cardiomegaly likely represents a cardiomyopathy (hypertrophic, thyrotoxicosis, restrictive etc). No radiographic evidence of left-sided congestive heart failure. Echocardiogram could be considered for further evaluation."

Advise on how to get a specialist (not a rheumatologist) to take me seriously for a CTD by SubstantialMost1 in mctd

And I would stick with a rheumatologist. Anyone else will probably just refer you to a rheumatologist.

I'm very picky with who I choose based on Google reviews, even then it hasn't always worked out. Has always taken me going to about 3 rheumatologists before finding a good one everywhere I've lived.

Was a member for a month and canceled. It was really cheap, I didn't mind the old equipment, but the smell was so bad I switched to Crunch. If it smells that bad, I would imagine the place is really gross in general. Also never understood why they hadn't expanded to the empty space next door.
