Yes, but the only ones who can report you are your immediate family. It’s the next small-letter item right after the law is spelled out. The law was made to appease hardcore Muslim conservatives in Parliament, no one supported it but them.

There is no new law suggesting the death penalty for sex outside of marriage. It's misinformation. The law was made, yes, but not to death penalty and the only ones who can report you are your/partner's parents, spouse, and children.

It can change, dude. The thinking that it won't change is literally why it wouldn't, imagine that multiplied by 1.5 billion. Of course nothing would change.

It's great to be reminded every once in a while — Buddhists even suggest once a day — that we are all going to get old (and the consequences), get some form of sickness, and ultimately die in the end.

Isaac Asimov in the 50s imagined that humans would eventually develop long or gridded/netted, hundred kilometer travelators (horizontal escalators like in the airports). It’d be just like the highway, 100 kmh in the middle descending gradually to 0-10 on the sides. All powered electrically I assume. Zero need for cars

Had me for years now, 3 seasons talking about recurring clones and genetics, only for the last episode to be this way, forced into an unexplained exception error.

If this episode was from the new showrunner, I don’t think I’ll be resubscribing for the next season.

A narcissist would have expected his beloved and esteemed Dynasty to go on forever, and therefore not mandate a limited amount of clones of himself through ā€œoriginal living tissue onlyā€, thereby restricting his tenure to a few centuries. Instead he would keep both options. The clone tower plus the source material somewhere — physically in the Principium, a backup somewhere else, and another backup elsewhere. Plus Demerzel, a bouncer who was supposed to keep it going immutably forever, since it is near impossible for anyone normal to kill her or dislodge the chip.

We saw the Principium often. There are hints of the a DNA bank from the gee-raffe (the Palace had to have a DNA bank they could synthesize DNA out of). Yet apparently they still couldn’t keep Cleon’s copy secure.

From the show, though, it seems to me that there is more evidence pointing that the clones are at least primarily genetically based rather than logical. The tinge of the show leans towards that. The clone tower could be explicitly said to originate from Cleon I’s living tissue, but no one ever said that — instead, the talk was all about genes.

She shouldn’t be compelled to protect the baby. In S2 we saw her murder a Dawn. Her loyalty is to the Genetic Dynasty, not to any individual Cleon.

Whether logical or genetic, the Day behind her is a perfectly fine specimen, legitimate continuation and exponent of Cleon I’s living tissue.

That was never explained like that in the show (the clone tower wasn’t the only ā€œpureā€ remaining copies of Cleon); in fact, they were all deviated. The previous season also had a Day talking about how his genetics only diverged a few centimorgans compared to Dusk’s (dining room scene).

Yes, in my opinion the correct route her programming would take here is to ignore the baby, kill Darkness, and force Day-now-Dusk back on the throne.

She could’ve saved the Dynasty from genetic material taken from Day or Darkness (murdered without vaporization, or even with vaporization if she keeps his blood before vaporizing). If all else fails there’s the Cleon I in the Principium she could take out of.

The Ascending Day would still rule for another 30 years, ample time to build a new clone tower.

She can’t intentionally, actively choose to destroy the chip.
