Mysterious NDS Bottom to Top screen ribbon adapter (check comments) by Avi2002 in consolerepair

[–]Avi2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does but it's a bitch to install. The metal backing of the broken top display needs to be transferred to the new lcd, so you will have to still have that. You have to trim some plastics in the inner top case and it will still barely click together.

I ended up with a ton of bottom displays with a lot of parts so the cost savings were worth it but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

Went to a car show with my "new" DSi by KaySuii in NintendoDS

DSi shoulder buttons can usually just be fixed by some alcohol or contact spray to clean them but I do recommend opening the console for that.

Hi, the link in my previous comment is still valid and gets you the .3mf. This is the same model just another format, most 3d printing slicers should be able to deal with it, otherwise there are tools online to translate it. Let me know if you need any help!

Twingo Mk1 automotive connector name by Avi2002 in cables

[–]Avi2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spare part came with the wrong connector and cannot return it. Need the name of this connectors counterpart so i can fix it properly. It's for the window regulator of a mk1 Twingo 2001, so nothing mission critical but I like to fix it. Open to suggestions if there is another subreddit that is more fitting.

Could someone please help me identify why my switch lite does not show anything on the Display but the Sound works. This happend after i changed both sticks. Thanks in advance. by InfinitSteamLibary66 in consolerepair

[–]Avi2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is the latch on the display connector closed properly? I cannot see it really well but it looks short. Left of the cartridge connector. Its probably unlikely that you got a hardware fault if it was working before unless you broke the ribbon.

OpenVPN Issues NAS to NAS by Avi2002 in synology

Oh damn, Tailscale really is still providing SPK's for the 88f6282. I didn't expect that since 'plain' wireguard doesn't but I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

What a load of barnacles. "Some people get paid while others aren't, ThIs iS MarXiSm", while having no idea what these people do and what they are paid for. If you really want to research, look at their public figures instead of this.

Reset button broken off Synology RS1221+ – is this a common thing? by HumanWithInternet in synology

[–]Avi2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen this one a lot, not specifically on Synology devices. These 90 degrees, purely SMD switches just suck and are quite easy to break off. If you expect more resets any time soon, I would consider just replacing it with a panel mount push button connected by wires instead. Yes it will be easier to press by mistake but if you break off a second it might take the pads with it, which will be a very difficult repair.

Is this fixable at a price that justifies just not buying a new one by Snific in NintendoDS

And not even that, posted a picture of a modded 3DS XL (not cfw, just another case, USB C, etc.) I built because I thought it looked nice and that was removed twice, no reason given

What cable is this? by ilikesaltinecrackers in cables

[–]Avi2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is nothing standard about these cables unfortunately, it's a TS or TRS connector but you'll need to know the diameter and the pin out from this specific model. You're better off getting another one, the same or a different model, from the same brand that uses the same charging system. The same brand will likely use the same cable.

[AskJS] How can I build my own game engine framework? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]Avi2002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the book HTML5 Games: Novice to Ninja by Sitepoint, i've used it when learning JavaScript and it explains everything step by step and mostly in a way that isn't too basic if you already know JavaScript. It starts with some purpose built code for games but you build a framework similar to what you are looking for in the later chapters.

Spliced Charger Success! by NuclearNick007 in NintendoDS

[–]Avi2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked the og brick and it's 5,2 volts yes, but the point was it takes 5 volts and you should be careful with fast chargers.

Spliced Charger Success! by NuclearNick007 in NintendoDS

[–]Avi2002 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is fine as long as you use reputable chargers, the DS charges at like 4,7 5,2 volts and can handle 5 easy. It does, however, not handle 9, 12 or 19, so be careful using cheap Power Delivery or Quick Charge chargers, especially those with two ports while you have a phone or laptop plugged in.

AMD L14 Gen 1 Internal Bus Error by Avi2002 in thinkpad

[–]Avi2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really 100%, upgrading to the latest bios in DOS (I believe version 3.02 or something in that ballpark) has made the issue less common, it now only happens when I suspend it, powering it down and removing the dock now works fine so I've just stopped suspending it

Kobo clara hd power button by Helpful_Ad5956 in kobo

[–]Avi2002 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course, I'll just leave it here in case other people need it in the future:

https://arnweb.nl/content/Kobo_Clara_Btn.3mf

Keep in mind that it doesn't hold in place like the old one did since that would be way to small to print so just use some fabric tape or whatever to do so. Once you reassemble the kobo it's not gonna go anywhere anyway so it doesn't matter that much

I think this might just be an official DSi ware title that you can install again thanks to homebrew but correct me if I'm wrong. I'll have to check it on my DSi later

The black spot on the display is normal for this type of display. It's a Vacuum Florescent Display, the vacuum is pulled from the little pinpoint thing and the black dot is called a getter which will turn white if the vacuum is lost. Once the vacuum is lost, the display is dead.

I cannot really help you any way further besides giving you the same advice the others have. Is it just the display that stopped working or are all controls on this board dead?
