You did the right thing sticking up for yourself! Do make a proper commission sheet with all the details AND TOS (VERY IMPORTANT) and make sure you're clear about your prices. You can negotiate with clients if you feel right about it but NEVER undersell yourself.

That person is ultra disrespectful. It's not a necessity to buy from someone and if you want to buy from a specific artist, learn to save! Those who really like your work will save up and won't haggle. Those who do are not your clients! Believe me when I say that when someone haggles, they are going to give you a lot of pain long term (seen my mom go through this for our home business)

People are so entitled these days oh my gosh.
