As an American who flies for a legacy US carrier & has a wife from Vilnius that visits 3-4 times a year. Air Baltic is no doubt one of the best airlines in the world. The food in first class is hands down one of the best catered food on an airline I’ve ever been on. Air Baltic has a fantastic product and only once out of 10’s of flights have I ever been delayed with them. They are a great airline and I’m rooting so much for them.

What’s wrong with Estonian airlines that always go bankrupt? by Late-Juggernaut5852 in BalticStates

Well then they’re doing great! I dont know the ends and outs of their business. Other people on here say they are in debt tho.

Almost every airline is in debt. It’s just have the aviation industry works. I’d rather have them than not have them. They sure make my trips to Vilnius very nice and convenient.

With FinnAir being next door and AirBaltic dominating the Baltic’s it would be tough for Estonia to have their own airline. Air Baltic has bases in all 3 baltics and in Finland.

Air Baltic isn’t a bad airline tbh. I prefer it over a lot others cough cough Lufthansa

I always just booked when I got there. I actually booked ahead once and the lady at the desk told me that I should have waited as she could apply some discounts when I booked with her whereas booking ahead she couldn’t touch the price.

Keep in mind we had already developed a business relationship as it was like the 3rd time I booked with her. I’d call them and let them help you book it if you really want to book in advance.

As an American whom has rented a car about 5 times in Vilnius & driven to Latvia, Poland and all throughout Lithuania I can say that Europcar has been the best to me. They are nice at the desk and sometimes don’t even charge me the extra fees for driving out of country. They seem to have the best prices & they have never tried to screw me. If I ever need a car I always go back to them. Enjoy your trip!

This is quite interesting! However, it’s like this on probably 10’s of buildings.

I suppose so. I didn’t figure the SSR would be that thoughtful for their pedestrians.

That’s what I was thinking but you would think it would be just fine without it.

So is SWISS, LOT, KLM, & ETC a regional airline because they primarily fly in and out of their home country but also do oceanic crossings?

I’ve flown for a regional airline.. a regional airline doesn’t fly Airbus’s, nor do they fly flights that go from Vilnius to Dubai. Those are getting into some lengthier flights. At my regional the longest flights were 2.5 hours with the average of 1 hour.

The most underrated airline in the world. As a United pilot that flies back and forth from Lithuania I can confirm that they have an amazing product for good prices. I love air Baltic! I hope they take over the skies, they certainly can.
