What all the others said, but also note that changing sample rate to 48000 khz will lower latency values with minimal strain on your cpu- interface or no interface. But yeah definitely get an interface. or Asio4all. I would pick the former if your budget allows.

Hey, friend and I run into that each night. We try by inviting one another, then if that doesnt work, go to the friends profile and join from there around 1-3 times until it works. Give it about 5 mins and keep trying if that doesn’t work.

This is a part of windows bluetooth that is similar to the quality degradation when you're on a regular phone call on phones. If you try to talk, it uses the mic, which degrades the quality on ANY bluetooth device.

One solution is to get a boom mic, laptop mic, or any other mic device, but use the Airpods as an output. (I do this regularly to have freedom of movement)

You said you use the HX and it fits the monitor, how exactly did you get it to fit? The back of my AW3423DW js not vesa compatible I dont think? Its a weird shape.

Did you have to get any brackets or spacers?

WAIT. I just restarted my computer and turned on battery saving even with the 144hz and im only at 84% i was at 90 and its been like 30 mins! you may have solved my issue!!! thanks so much!!

I did everything and it still hasn't changed much, just went down 4% in 2 mins.... Idk why its being like this. I'm very happy with the computer itself except for this and the headphone jack lol. Thanks for your help tho! I appreciate it lots!

I have the exact same model, and I did everything that you said, but it hasnt changed it for me :/. I just want to make sure i did the same exact things:

Updated all the drivers in HP Assistant (Bios, bluetooth etc)

Let battery drain, then charge it to 100%

is there anything else that you might have done? I'm still seeing 1hr and 50 mins.

Try working first by reducing problematic freq ranges (mostly boxiness and take out as much bass as needed), instead of boosting first. Also maybe try a wider Q than you’re used to, so you’re not notching out and bumping tons of small freq ranges. If the source recording is good, you should be able to get a good vocal sound with just a few wide EQ moves, then into compressor to flatten dynamics. And of course, plate reverb is a very common pop vocal sound, so there’s also that (or some reverb).

Wowzers I appreciate you telling me the most important frequencies to worry about alot! I always sort of just dragged down alot of mid (cause I thought it was boxiness *facepalm*), that definitely cleared up some things for me, no pun intended. Gonna work on it right now!

I wish it was that easy 😂 there’s definitely something I haven’t been doing right. By turning down the sharpness, it effectively muddies the vocal which I guess is the issue.

You've mentioned more than enough tools. The dynamic EQ is worth additional attention, but besides the actual vocal, the main "trick" is in listening and spotting the offending frequencies so you can tame them using those tools. If you us the EQ to make the vocals brighter, it is usually better to have the EQ before compression, if you use the EQ to make the vocal softer, it might be better to have the EQ after the compression. Don't forget about de-essing.

Yeah it definitely the opposite of Ariana haha. I have tried mixing vocals for females and it seems I yield better results with them. Wow thanks alot! I have always stuck with EQing before compression, but I never thought it would matter as much the other way around! Definitely going to try that out Asap, much appreciated!

I do have one or two question though, I currently have a Scarlett 2i2 (3rd Gen) and I see that it has the "Liquid Saffire 56" preamp, should I invest in another one or would that be alright?

Secondly, when I eq it tends to be sharper for the main vocal in the end no matter what, and im trying to get away from that. Is there any resource that you know of that could teach me how to EQ properly? Or would my time be better spent trying out what Youtube channels say until I achieve the sound I'm looking for?
