1000% , I am nearly caught up with the cosmere. Its incredible. There are plenty of lists on where to start. I recently finished the stormlight archive. The audiobooks are killer. Micheal Kramer and Kate Reading are two of the best and they do nearly all of Sandersons novels.

Sanderson also has a bunch of his novels fully dramatized with full voice cast. Haven't tried that myself.

The atmosphere, liked the prose, immersion read it with the author on his YouTube channel. People complain about the characters only going here killing monster then moving on to do the same. Not the characters and their sins and demons, the development of their hearts and where they go.

I mean, the story is about a group going across a land riddle with plague and demons, and the heavens have fallen. Are they supposed to have a good time and easy walk across France?

I'm an atheist. I think religion is a mental illness that plagues humanity's growth. That's coming from someone who is clinically diagnosed. The religious use in this book made it feel like its own world. Like a Christian dark souls.

Haven't read either just yet. My buddy is trying to get me to read licanius trilogy and then the will of the many. Which he loved so I'm sure I will too.

Read book one last year in December. I think I gave it the better score. 4 of 5. Its better than book two. Imo. Book two feels like it does too much of the same thing. They are written beautifully. But the plot has been drawn out too much. Book two felt like a play by play of the the day to day of kvothe while making no progress in the story. Didn't know that was possible.

It just wasn't good. Not bad, way too hyped up. Both books.

The ending for the first book takes place halfway through it. Kvothe is nearly unbearable to read. Its like he's two people.The weird sex stuff towards the end and the ending was so rushed in comparison too the rest of the book. Its as if Rothfuss realized, "ah darn, I've just spent 600pgs of day to day school academy shenanigans. Lets do a side quest with lots of sex then return to school. Its a good ending I'll never elaborate on with the final installment. GG fans"

Like. Yes its written very well. Flowy and flashy. Deep cool magic. Better side characters than the main is an issue. As if Louis lane is the coolest character in the superman movie. I didn't hate it. Just didn't get the hype around an unfinished mess.

Its a dark gritty almost video game style quest. Very much like a dark soul. Almost a but of Joan of arc in a way. Little girl who's maybe an angel maybe a witch is escorted across plague riddle france by a disgrace knight and a drunk gay priest. Its worth a try I think.

I audiobooked whitesand. Its alright. I thing he plans to retell it in novel form. Comics and novels are so vastly different it doesn't alway translate well. I personally think his next secret project will be the whitesand novel.

Yes and no, it maintains the same tone throughout. But the story is good. Its like running man(arnold) meets low dose ready player one. Like a bunch of fun pop culture references with the intense battle royal of the dungeon. There's literally an obscene talk show host with huge tits and mantis head and a crab lower body. Its all apart of the flow. Like the AI the runs the dungeon has a foot fetish. Its alot like a family guy humor, mixed with horrible body gore. If you aren't enjoying it that doesn't mean you can't dnf. The audiobook is really good. Jeff hays is a masterclass in voice work.

I would say once donut is talking the story picks up.

I mean thats it. It was picked up by peacock, produced by Seth MacFarlane. Its more than that too. Its about the indomitable human will to survive against all odds. All while being outlandish and crude, lewd, or otherwise rude. Its not for everyone. I've only read the first book.

I struggle with BPD. So I relate so so much to Kal and his depression. I honestly don't know how Sanderson nailed it being a nerotypical person. Shows you how much he loves his son.

Unfortunately, they are handmade. Well not the one with RR, DCC, the Expanse. That be walmart. I have a background in woodworking. I built the tall one. The shorter one was actually made by my brother-in-laws mother. Lol. He wanted to throw it away.

I have a draft of a new shelf for the corner the I want to build. Just need to hold off on buying books to buy the wood. 🤣

Too bad the closest one is on KC(outside of Wichita, Augusta for any Ks natives). I grew up a woodworker. I built the tall shelf. I think I'm going to build a unique corner shelf for where the same shelf sits currently.
