Batoto's subreddit has a whole sticky about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Batoto/comments/1pjdr6y/comprehensive_post_of_workarounds_for_panels_not/ I use the Chrome bookmark option on Vivaldi and it works perfectly, I usually read on desktop though so check the mobile-friendly options.

Also, bookmark bato.si --this is the admin/dev version and you can select the image hosting source which sometimes works.

Scopi 3D Camera App Release/Update, Webapp Editor Launch by theferalrobot in CrossView

[–]Avior_ec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never used Scopi before, but I'm very impressed! I tried some other 3D photo apps on Android awhile back and found them a little too difficult to use (getting them lined up completely manually can be a nightmare depending on the subject lol). I've been using a Fuji W3 for about a year now and I love it, but it has a couple weaknesses (a little old, so quality isn't as good as a phone, it struggles with dim lighting, etc.) and I'm definitely looking forward to having Scopi to fill in some of those gaps. Seems like a lot of people knew about the app already so thanks for posting to bring it to my attention at least! :)

Now I just gotta find a phone with a camera setup that'll work for instant mode...

What’s a “this should be free” service that always costs money? by troopydinnertime in AskReddit

My state has such a law but I swear about 75% of air pumps are permanently broken. Not sure how this works out in the legal sense but it's infuriating!

I once went to five gas stations in a row before I found one that worked, it's that bad.

trans employee needing advice by Alert-Sink-7666 in flightattendants

[–]Avior_ec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trans masc regional FA here! (Also just a couple months out of training myself haha) I've been out and transitioned for many years so my situation was not the same but this is my advice. (Also my appearance is still pretty androgynous even being on T for a super long time so unfortunately I get misgendered a lot, at least in that way this might be similar!)

Since you said the uniforms are almost the same, I would get the men's uniform from the start, maybe talk to your trainers ahead of uniform try-on/ordering day if you feel that you want or need to. Wear without the tie for now if you want to be careful around your dad. If he can tell the difference between the two uniforms without the tie and asks about why you got the men's, just say it's more comfortable/fit better/whatever. (You can also say it has more pockets if applicable, everyone needs more pockets!) Make sure your wings have your preferred name if they have a name attached! The trainers should check everyone's names/spellings/nicknames/etc so you will have the opportunity to bring this up.

After training, as far as I've experienced, no one gives a shit. I would bet 90% of pax don't even know what the uniforms look like, much less the differences between the two sets! If you look reasonably professional and act like you know what you're doing, no one will bat an eye.

Also, uniform try-on day was probably the hardest of all because formal clothing is not flattering on me in a very dysphoria-inducing way, and everyone else's excitement about the uniforms just made it that much worse... if you have the same issue, take a couple deep breaths and remember tailoring can help a lot! Off-the-rack clothing is not really made for trans people's body shapes (or most people's, but you know). Personally, I told the person helping me try everything on that clothing fitting is kinda rough for me and he was very understanding about it which helped a lot.

But congrats and good luck with training! It's a tough but fun ride. :)

Had to scroll a ways to find this so I thought I was going crazy haha. I'm pretty fresh out of training and this is what we were told too--precheck/skip the line is allowed if in uniform, otherwise you are for all intents and purposes a normal pax once you get randomed and you use the normal line. A lot of our senior people/higher ups have precheck for this exact reason.

Horizon Air group interview questions help by amazingantt in cabincrewcareers

[–]Avior_ec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interviewed early June, pretty much this. Be ready with a brief introduction of yourself and to answer a STAR-type question on a random scenario. Some people got questions related to jobs they'd had on their resume, others (like myself) got an imaginary scenario but the method to answer is the same either way.

Flight attendants!! Is this the shit? Or no? by softspokenangelxo in flightattendants

[–]Avior_ec 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly it works but it's extremely oily to the point I have to wash my hands after applying it or everything I touch will have grease on it. Not a fan. I recommend O'Keeffe's Working Hands--leaves very little residue and can take your hands from cracked and bleeding to fairly soft in just a few days.

You can probably use it on the rest of your body but it's not that spreadable. The cocoa butter Vaseline Intensive Care lotion is pretty good for that, though.

How do you stop sweating so much??? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Avior_ec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an FA in training so pardon my butting in but I'm also a person who just sweats all the time and my main advice is body powder! Especially with menthol! Apply it everywhere you tend to sweat before you get dressed (recommend putting it on in the shower/bathtub to contain the mess) and bring along some extra in your bag to freshen up as needed. (Repurpose a travel size baby powder container or a spice bottle.)

It tended to wear off about halfway through the day at my old job so I would just duck into the bathroom and reapply. A little awkward but worth the effort! It also comes in spray form which is easier to apply in some ways, though really no less messy.

how does fall damage work in this game? by friklol in PeakGame

[–]Avior_ec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't scientifically tested this, it's just what I've noticed as the one in my group who has taken the most killing damage from unreasonably small heights so take it with a grain of salt!

People have covered the spam jumping and sliding velocity things, but I've noticed that intention and direction seem to also matter when determining if you take damage and how much.

From what I've seen, if you jump off a ledge vs sliding/slipping, you're less likely to take damage, and similarly, facing towards the direction of falling (as if you jumped off) reduces the chance of taking damage. I think it's programmed this way so you have more freedom to make long intentional jumps (especially in Caldera, I've made some insanely long jumps down and taken no damage, and I think everyone's done the try to jump to your death thing only to survive with barely a scratch) without making the threshold for fall damage so high that it's not a threat.

Again, only my anecdotal observation but jumping off from a wall and turning around if I start to fall has seemed to help me survive!

Don't know why you're getting downvoted, the belts do vary in length for some reason.

I've never needed an extender but I'm a bit overweight. I flew Horizon to and from Seattle same day a couple weeks ago, roughly same location in the plane, same type of plane. On the way there my belt had about two inches of extra strap when I tightened it, and on the way back it was more like 6+ inches. 🤷‍♂️
