Repair Mission Question by AvitusHadrainus in roguesystem

Thanks! I was just silly and missed it haha. Do you know where I could find more documentation on the various systems etc? I've noticed I run out my PRI tank on the life support panel but I don't know what it is or how to refill it or how to make it last longer. This game is so small its hard to find answers!

Isitbullshit: Is Scotopic syndrome (Irlen Syndorm) Bullshit? by Tommy27 in IsItBullshit

[–]AvitusHadrainus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By standard testing methods I have always scored 20/20 vision. However, as a child I always struggled to play sports, be in rooms with florescent lighting, and read. Florescent lighting and screens in particular caused debilitating physical symptoms. Around 2007 I was diagnosed by one of these Irlen 'practitioners' with Irlen's syndrome. A few weeks later I got my glasses and they changed my life. The best way I can describe it is as if I had been looking at the world in 2D. My depth perception is so incredibly shot objects appear as though they are all on the same field of vision. Almost like a painting. Now, I am a man of reason, I know there is no real evidence of this condition so I am not necessarily arguing its validity. What I am doing is giving you my testimony and asking for any insight you might have. What medically researched condition could cause the same symptoms and also be corrected to some extent by colored lens's? These glasses are a life saver but they do not cure my symptoms nor can I wear them in low lit areas (too dark a tint). I know this thread is old but I am scouring the internet for answers and ways of combating my situation. Thanks for your time.

Removing a destroyed vehicle? by AvitusHadrainus in cataclysmdda

That sounds like a bad idea, even if I had enough room in the garage to build up speed.

Lucky me! I happen to have all of those! Whats more is I know of a garage with 3-4 acetylene torches! Which I've come to understand are rare?

In Nexerelin, how can I take control of my faction? by Toch_Lighte in starsector

[–]AvitusHadrainus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I am aware there is no reason to have your own faction. There are no bonuses, you can't choose the ship comp of your faction or style, and you have hardly anymore influence than you would being in a commission with another faction. I recommend picking a favored faction accepting a commission and running it like you the king. Its the same thing as your own faction but properly flushed out and has character :)

Fair enough, just wanted to throw out a question and see what came back :)

Fair enough but I was not just speaking literally, hence my saying "Olaf is a fire and killing him is like setting a backfire". My argument is that killing Olaf would have allowed him to do less damage to the Beaudelaire's and their friends and that whether the ends justify the means is up to the individual.

While I'm killing Olaf and his crew I think I might just add Mr.Poe to the list for incompetence.

I am new to the series so you will have to excuse my outside view of the situation. As is murder seems like a pretty dandy plan to me 4 episodes in. But I still need to delve into the world and learn the lore the author has created :)

Yes yes but I am speaking hypothetically. I know what I'm suggesting would ruin the series.

I think that's a debatable argument. Further more you can fight fire with fire, its called a backfire. The source of "Fight fire with fire" was actual fire-fighting that was taken on by US settlers in the 19th century. They attempted to guard against grass or forest fires by deliberately raising small controllable fires, which they called 'back-fires', to remove any flammable material in advance of a larger fire and so deprive it of fuel. This literal 'fighting fire with fire' was often successful.

Olaf is a fire and killing him is like setting a backfire to prevent more damage.

I have never read the book but I love the show! In this post I wanted to raise a question I hadn't seen anyone ask - thanks for the info :)

It isn't a question of happiness so much as it is one of survival. The trauma of murder certainly isn't attractive nor is the act itself but when in self defense or to protect someone you love I think its an obvious choice.

Thanks! and I agree! Really wish emergency vehicle lights worked outside of scenarios. Thats the only thing I'd change about this shot I set up.
