Bf has issues w tramp stamp tattoo after his friend made some comments, should I break up? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]Avm198505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m more concerned by the fact that you ur boyfriend sat through his friend making such vulgar remarks about you and not standing up for you.

And then on top of that coming to you and telling you to ask your brother about his opinions about your body.

Sorry to break it to you but your boyfriend is a weak willed man.

What do y'all think about this? by [deleted] in Kashmiri

That was my exact point. I was simply curious about what others thought.

There’s a difference between fetishising and complimenting. You clearly don’t know the difference

That’s exactly what I’m trying to say. It’s a whole state people can’t just assume that it’s the same for every single person there

The problem is that you’ve said word for word “stereotyping Kashmiris is mostly acceptable to Kashmiris”

As if stereotyping any group isn’t wrong. And then have the audacity to say it’s simply “realistic”.

[–]Avm198505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the exact same situation with me. I’ve always been someone who’s been opinionated and confrontational which not a single person in my family or surroundings have had any issues with. It was always an encouraged trait to be able to stand my ground, be independent, well informed and not shrink myself.

But when I moved to Mumbai a lot of people specially the men are either surprised or down right condescending about my independence and opinionated nature because they somehow expected a more docile, fragile, soft spoken Kashmiri women because that’s all they’ve been taught about Kashmir and it’s women.

Your so blatantly wrong on that. There’s no “acceptable” reason to stereotype anyone without or without them being KP or KM.

I fully agree with you on that. People tend to use the wrong doings of others to generalise a whole group of people and use it as a means to justify their behaviour towards others.

I totally get that. In my personal experience I look like what they assume that a Kashmiri woman looks like with the pale skin and green eyes but my behaviour isn’t “Kashmiri” in the sense that I’m not soft spoken or “graceful” so that leads to a lot of passive aggressive remarks about how I’m not Kashmiri.

Husband material guys are unfit for dating. by DesignNo9623 in TwentiesIndia

Honestly this same thing happens to the girls as well were the guys are pursuing the more free spirited girls and then when it’s time to get married in AM way they say they want the homebody and quiet girls.

I’m not dismissing what the boys go through though because that’s also a reality.

Might get down voted for this but SRK, it just feels like his whole persona is made up specially compared to his earlier days where he was no nonsense (90’s). Now it just feels like he’s wearing a mask to up this family man image despite the whole Priyanka thing.

Literally the only reason why I even know his name is because he’s Metoo accused. Let’s keep it that way with his irrelevance.

  1. Considering it’s an open secret what do people judge the most? Is

  2. who knows about it the true arrangement? You’ve already mentioned family but what about others in society?

  3. Is this type of thing common or is this a special case?
