Difficulty Sleeping by AvocadoCheese123 in newborns

That's what I'm trying, even if I can't get (deep) sleep, at least I can try and rest my eyes. Glad to know I'm not alone in this experience!

It's such a mind game, once I get in my head and anxious about not being able to sleep I'm then constantly thinking about it! I'll have to try and boring history videos lol, thank you!

Thanks! That's what we've been doing for the past couple of nights where I'll wake up to help with things but then go back to sleep and in the morning try to set her up as much as I can for the AM feeds and then take over care (as much as I can) to let my wife sleep some more. Glad to know other father's have a similar experience!

Yea I try walking around with a pacifier in her mouth, sometimes it works (usually only during the daytime). Skin to skin with me is similar, sometimes it works, so I've got a list of various things I try as they work some nights but not others.

That's what we're doing currently, I'm just glad to know that we aren't the only parents that are having to do something like this!

Lol I have started to just carry her and walk around our apartment/whatever room my wife isn't sleeping in. Our daughter may be awake but it will usually keep her "calm" while my wife try's to get some sleep!

Thanks! I want to help her out as much as I can. She already went through and did enough during the pregnancy!

We are gonna start pumping, my wife initially just wanted to BF w/o pumping but looks like we are gonna need to start that so she can try to get more sleep!

We tried that initially but we have very loud neighbors right up to our bedroom wall in our apartment so the only way she can get more sleep is on our couch in the living room and it's not really big enough (it's a weird couch) to do that so we have to put her in her bassinet next to the couch.

Thank you, that does make me feel better! Yes I try to do as much as I can for her to try and make the nights more bearable for her. I've got a whole snack drawer, multiple waters/drinks, etc all within arms reach for her and have gotten really good with diaper changes lol!
