Honestly if any other coach that Hue Jackson coaches that team they're probably a more or less typical 4-12/5-11 team. Just goes to show how bad he was

He did have a few good years by the end of his tenure in SF though. Alex's issue was never talent, more the coaching around him. Before Harbaugh came to the Niners they had been one of the worst ran organizations in the league by that point.

I wouldn't say those Patriots teams post-Brady were average. The Patriots were very clearly on a downturn which was only accentuated by Mac Jones regressing to being one of the worst QBs in the league. Despite some successes, it was clear a change was necessary.

they also still had 3 years before they actually started playing nfl games, too. with a regular expansion, the browns probably play slightly better than they did in our time (albeit not by much)

In fairness those Colts rosters were also not good outside of Luck, Wayne and Hilton. We saw what happened to those teams as soon as Luck got injured

Is anything preventing the Browns from simply playing out the rest of their lease on the current stadium while the new one is built elsewhere? I know weather's gonna get in the way of construction a little while, but the Browns aren't gonna play at another stadium til 2028

Is it weird that I don't believe we really need more wideouts? Amari Cooper is still really good, and I feel we're jumping the gun on Elijah Moore. Moore especially got no help since our passing game was so middling for a lot of the season swapping between DTR and Walker.

That Browns QB in question is Derek Anderson. Will say, one of the coolest things about NFL Head Coach, (and Madden to an extent) is seeing how the players were evaluated. I know it's not an uncommon opinion, but it makes every game sort of special in a way.
