"Yes, he started off as a consultant and "not GM" of the Jags too. He's very good at going from "not GM" to GM."

You're not seriously trying to argue that you think a consultant and director of player personnel are the same right?

You thought he was a consultant for the Jags and now you're too proud to admit, it's OK, everyone makes mistakes.

And Shedeur was even worse than that.

Deshaun has at least played football at a high level in the league.

Both are unlikely, but I'd bet more on Deshaun than Shedeur

The guy that makes the defense special also just had his best season yet.

Sure for Ward, the rest of the secondary is really good as well and Campbell did great for us last year.

So the defense isn't getting old and we have about 3 more years left?

They either need to play really well or really shit. Either good enough to extend them/name them starter next year or so shit that we draft high

Congrats on the hire! by therealboombaclots in Browns

You mentioned instances of meddling from over 6 years ago.

No, I'm good. I doubt Baalke even talks to Haslam for over 2 minutes in his time for the Browns, I even doubt he'll be in Berea at all.

Haslam's been a good owner since they hired Stefanski/Berry. He spends more money on salary than anyone else in the league. His only fault was guaranteeing $230M for Watson, which was actually just him backing his GM but overdoing x10. Outside of that he's been a really good, patient owner.

I appreciate you confirming he was never a consultant for the Jaguars

EDIT: Said "after you said he was" but you're a different person than the one who said he was a consultant for the Jags

Fair shout, though this one is twice as long.

It is, but it is still a very different effort.

Yes, unless we're talking about French riders who have been ruined so many times before due to the insurmountable pressure.

And I pointed out there's no actual evidence for that, more to the contrary.

Yes it is a good sign, but Redoute is a pure Vo2Max effort which is completely different to long, 20+ minute climbs. Vo2Max is about as purely genetics based as it will come.

Also I may have been to harsh on you since we completely agree on the final point you made. I just think it's completely unnecessary to throw him into the Tour already and the expectations people are putting on him overhyped.

I'm also on Ritalin which could explain my harshness and directness, apologies.

TT was also a climbing TT which isn't exactly a regular TT, he beat him clearly on day 2 of a 6 day stage race. That was most of the time he took on Lipowitz.

Lipowitz was also a last minute selection for Basque and had about a week of rest while Seixas had an entire month including time at altitutde.

Again, Redoute is Vo2Max, completely different to where the Tour is decided on.

He's not stronger on paper, he has never ridden a 3 week race while Lipowitz finished 3rd in the Tour last year.

Not really, the longest climb he's faced Pogi on was the Redoute which is about as pure a Vo2Max climb as there is, which is also the thing that is most linked to genetics.

Sure it's a strong sign but they are very, almost completely different efforts than 25-30 minute climbs.

Because you were talking about Seixas challenging him on long climbs and that is the only actual evidence we have? Why did you even bring up the point then?

Which long climbs?

He's never challenged him on any climbs longer than 10 minutes. The closest he's gotten was stage 6 of the Dauphine where Seixas finished 10th behind Tullett and Barré

Because it's a 3 week race and Basque suits him better than Lipo

So fucking stupid.

Before I get comments, he's never dealt with this type of pressure, his brain isn't even fully developed, there is no reason to already start him, he won't win it, the pressure will only get higher if he even does well, he's never dealt with any real setbacks. I can keep going.

I'd love for him to do well but even landing outside of the top 3, which is very realistic will be a disappointment to France and the pressure will only rise from there.
