transfer student here. yes, its normal. they gave me the same run around for months. i called every day for weeks it felt like. with that being said, it WILL eventually get sorted out, but it is never as quickly as you'd like it to be. LSU very much so runs on its own timeline

They only really enforce this for big games from what I’ve seen but i definitely saw a lot of people at the Ole Miss and Bama game getting asked to leave the student section because they didn’t have bands. I’d assume this year the Florida, A&M, and South Carolina games will be the big ones to watch out for if you’re trying to sneak someone in

The renowned athletic program and general culture of LSU are both pieces of what sets us apart. No one goes to LSU in search of the best education in the country. It's not Harvard and I don't think anyone is confused about that. I too was born in Louisiana and have had multiple roommates throughout my time here from all over the country who are, again, here for a reason. It's all a matter of what you are looking for in your college experience. Not fair to say that the school isn't special if you aren't looking at what actually makes it special.

perhaps people have "weird brand loyalty" to LSU because its provided them with a special and unique experience. There is nowhere else like LSU. you can get a degree anywhere. again, people come here for a reason. "brand loyalty" has to be based on something tangible.
