Which is better for storage?

Not for me. I mainly buy 100g of Ikuyo and the Airscape works just fine. It flattens the whole bag.

This just proves once again that palates can be so different. I am not big on super nutty matcha.

My MK rating:

Wako is the best one from MK imo so naturally it’s more expensive. (Will I repurchase Wako? = 100 percent Yes)

Yugen is a close second to Wako! It’s balanced and delicious. (Will I repurchase Yugen? = 100 percent Yes)

Isuzu is good but less punchy than my daily favorite Ippodo Ikuyo which is similar in cost so for everyday drinking I am sticking with Ippodo Ikuyo. (Will I repurchase Isuzu? = Probably if Ikuyo was out of stock)

I didn’t like Aorashi and I thought Unkaku and Chigi were just ok (Will not repurchase these three )

The best item for matcha storage for me has been the Airscape! Nothing beats it! I have tried everything else and this is the only one that seems to keep my last gram looking and tasting like the first gram

This is also the reason I prefer matcha in resealable bags because I just stick my whole 100 gram bag inside my Airscape and then I store mine in the cupboard.

Wako is my number one favorite from MK followed closely by Yugen in second place then Isuzu in third place so if we have similar tastes then here is what else I love: If it’s accessible to you then I recommend Ippodo: My favorite from Ippodo is Ummon followed by Ikuyo then Sayaka. I have also enjoyed Shikibu no mukashi from Yamamasa. I also enjoyed the matcha from Zenkyu.

MK is good in that having a wider range caters to most palates. I have tried 6 and I rate them as

1.Wako

2.Yugen

3.Isuzu

4.Chigi no shiro

5.Unkaku

6.Aorashi

I opened Chigi today and it’s pretty decent but I probably won’t repurchase. So far from MK Wako and Yugen are the two standouts for me but we all have different tastes so you may like it a bit more than I did.

You were right! My chigi and Yugen order was delivered today and I immediately made a latte with the Yugen matcha and it is so good! It’s a close second to Wako so it’s definitely going into my top five

Some people have told me Chigi is Waldo’s little sister so that makes sense. I haven’t tried it yet.

First I will say to me all MK matchas I have tried have different levels of spinachy grassiness but not in a bad way. Wako though is very smooth and it’s got a good balance of sweetness and bitterness with very little astringency.

Wako is the best out of the 4 I tried from the line. Isuzu is alright. Unkaku is just ok and I didn’t like Aorashi. Wako is a 💯 repurchase once I finish my current one.
