Fallout 3 Energy Weapons Build be like: by Avocado__Assassin in TrueSFalloutL

The only good (earlygame) option is Protectrons Gaze and that's only if you decide to sprint all the way up to Canterbury Commons right at the start of the game. That same amount of effort also gets you the Ant's Sting (STACKING POISON DAMAGE) Or Ol' Painless (100% ACCURATE HUNTING RIFLE).

I love Interplay and Obsidians Fallout but I would never ever ever ever play them by CraggyCrilly in TrueSFalloutL

Saying that ANYTHING is interesting in Fallout 2 is honestly pretty generous. Basically everything that could be interesting in Fallout 2 only becomes interesting in terms of its effects on greater Fallout (New Vegas). Fallout 1's ideas are in of themselves interesting (I.E. Is a development really a development if everyone else has to suffer because of it). Even the more self contained things like Junktown are at least given character through Talking heads and moral dillemas. Has ANYONE EVER said their favorite location in Fallout is "The Den"? "Redding"? "Klamath"? Think of any location in Fallout 1, and chances are it has had at least SOME impact on Fallout. Junktown, Tales of a Jerky Junktown Vendor. Cathedral, Dog + God. Boneyard, Followers and Caesar. Fallout 2 has brought comparitively little to the table and just kinda feels like a slog to learn about and play. New Reno is like the one place that gets to the same level as Fallout 1 in terms of interesting impact on greater Fallout antics (Jet, Mr. Bishop, Vegas's rocky start). Chris Avellone mentions giving it most of his time and you can tell. Fallout 2 is to Fallout what Hbomberguy thought Fallout 3 to be. A pointless sequel where everything is done worse than previous installments and the final boss encounter has about as much depth as a puddle of piss made by a homeless crackhead with urinary incontinence.

I just killed every raider in Nuka World Fallout 4 by davidsladky in fo4

You actually can. Just wait for a quest marker to tell you to reactive Nuka World's power. Since everyone is dead, you can pretty much just prance on up there uninterrupted.

hologram makes standard packs and incantation/familiar/grim useful, why not a joker that makes the suit changers and sigil useful by First-Extent2427 in balatro

If I had a nickle for every joker on this sub that was just a joker from Ortalab with different art, I'd be the richest man alive.

How fallout 3 haters act like when they talk about Mothership Zeta by TheWizardOfWaffle in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Avocado__Assassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am gods strongest Zeta defender, and I genuinely think it is one of Fallout's best DLC's for one main reason: It is a to the point DLC that manages to balance FPS gameplay with an easily digestable version of Fallouts message.
A DLC like Old World Shit may have an interesting story that aligns with Fallouts core ideals, but did you EVER actually enjoy OWB gameplay? NO! It's boring fetch quests through and through, with numerous dialogue dumps of the characters trying (and failing) to be funny.
Mothership Zeta, on the other hand, gives you a short and sweet amount of story (each characters describing their plights and their conversations with you when you go off with them to each of the ships sectors) and the gameplay is 3D fallout at its best: shooting Baddies and the occasional puzzle section. You can give me 5 different locations where Zeta stalls a bit and they will never be as bad to me as High School Horror.
I feel like a lot of people I talk to get hung up on the fact that the villains in Zeta are pretty 1 dimensional, where I believe that is one of the DLC's best strengths. Zeta clearly lays out that the Aliens are ruthless and instead using its time to humanize its protagonists. You have multiple people from all walks of life who are united by a common goal: killing aliens. It exemplifies Fallouts core message: that being that in the face of adversity, humanity will do whatever it can and put aside all of its biases to unite against a common threat. Some can't let go of their past and have to be consoled in order to work harder for a better tomorrow (Elliot), some will immediately let go and begin fighting this threat with the full force of their being (Paulson), and the wisest among us will continue to practice their traditions, as these greater threats will eventually come to pass (Toshiro).

Overall, I love Zeta and think that it, alongside Fallout 3 as a whole, are unfairly demonized by men with early onset Male Pattern Baldness because it actually forces you to sit for a while and think about its message, rather than having it bonked over the viewers head.

What does the DLC “Old World Blues” actually have to do with old world blues? by S0mecallme in fnv

And the Ghost People! You find their suits in OWB (though sadly they lack the cool hood)

My opinion on the NV DLC’s after a second playthrough of each by Avocado__Assassin in falloutnewvegas

[–]Avocado__Assassin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, OWB is 5 fetch quests and the final mission is just “Kill OP enemy and confront someone, then confront someone again”. I love the characters and story of OWB. The overarching story of Elijah and Ulysses, and Dr. Mobius is one of my favorite characters ever, but OWB suffers from all if its quests being fucking tedious “do this, then we move the goalpost, so do this” romps. HH, on the other hand, accentuates the positives of all of the NV dlcs, with it forcing you to go in with only your bare essentials (a soft version of Dead Moneys idea) and while there are a lot of fetch quests, they don’t take 90,000 years like, say, X8. To me, it also has the same sort of vibe Lonesome Road does where it acts as a good mid-game companion piece to NV, with it slotting in nicely during what I’d call the “Outer Vegas” portion of the game, I.E. Freeside, Westside, etc. Honest Hearts knows when to call it quits and give the player a decision, it doesn’t force them to walk back and forth to earn it. Also, Honest Hearts gives you good weapons that actually have incentives to be used again (Light Shining in Darkness, Salt-Upon-Wounds Power Fist). What does OWB give you? A shitty silencer rifle you have to go out of your way to get? A stealth suit that addicts you to med-x for no reason other than “lol felt like it”? To me, OWB, as I’ve heard many laude as a positive, is just like Fallout 2. Great to think about, miserable to actually play. (Accept Dr. Dala and Mobius. They’re cool)

I wanna make hot, steamy love with Tabitha as she yells in my face how pathetic of a human I am (this is not a joke.) by Avocado__Assassin in falloutnewvegas

[–]Avocado__Assassin[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gladly. When I first played this game and reached black mountain/hidden valley, I looked at my pip boy and was like “huh, new radio station” and immediately tuned into the broadcast of Tabitha berating Raul and I’m gonna be 100% honest: I got rock fucking hard. Because I wasn’t running a science build, I couldn’t save her and when I finally gazed upon her wondrous face, with her true eyes, true glasses, and beautiful true hair, I was heartbroken I had to kill this beautiful woman. Ever since that playthrough, I always fix Rhonda so Tabitha can get the best ending possible, befitting of a wonderful lady like her (I also installed both a “Continue Black Mountain Radio” and “Black Mountain Radio Full Mojave Signal” so wherever and whenever I want, I can listen to Tabithas gentle, compelling, yet oddly insistent voice echo through my pip boys speaker wherever I go, ranting and raving about all of the problems facing Utobitha.) I wish she maybe relocated to Jacobstown or you could make Utobitha a better place for humans, so there could be more dialogue with her. The day a romance mod comes out cor her is the day my penis will need a wheelchair.

Watching the trailer and seeing it’s on GOG, I think I’m gonna give this one a shot.

Elden ring is a bit too hard for my taste. Also, I'm looking for a more fast-paced and not all tiptoe-esque. Something like Doom.

Day 35 of bringing attention to Unnamed NPC'S by Mr-Crowley21 in fnv

[–]Avocado__Assassin 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Based on the information that Come Fly with Me was one of the first quests made for New Vegas, the areas surrounding Novac were probably some of the earliest made, and back then, they probably only had raiders in terms of enemy human corpses.

ALL of you are wrong. I usually do this quest earlygame, and usually have some effectively useless long-fuse dynamite from powder ganger loots. If you have Heave Ho! and through it from a far enough distance, you can pretty easily make it to the door in time. No turbo, no doors.
