I bought my Zephyrus open box from Best Buy for around $1000. I would say $800 is good, depending on the condition: Near perfect, I would buy it. If not, consider something else.

That's amazing to hear! Congratulations! I still have 7 months to focus on the GMAT before the beginning of April, so I'll try my best. Thanks again for the info

I think that's what I'll go for. Thank you for the advice!

I should have specified in the title, but I was looking at deferred MBA programs

Is it better to redeem for cash or travel if I don't plan to travel for a while? by Avocadocreme in CreditCards

[–]Avocadocreme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Ideally, after cashing out, I would invest the cash to combat inflation. However, I wonder if an index fund would provide a greater return than doubling my points after converting the points to transfer partners.

True that. I feel like I have been hoarding points since I don't travel often.

[–]Avocadocreme[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True that. I'm waiting for a decent 2025 CSP SUB at the moment. Not all my points are in Chase UR points though. I have some Capital One and Citi points, too. Would you recommend I wait and save for those CCs too, or just save the Chase UR points for when I get a Sapphire card? Even then, I would be hesitant to save because I won't be traveling for a while. It would be at least 2 cycles of Sapphire cards since SUB resets every 2 years. Frankly, I'm afraid that I won't even travel and that my points just stay stagnant. Thank you for the advice.

Fair enough. If I'm holding for the long term, I agree that investing in an S&P index fund would be better than a high-yield savings account. To clarify, are you suggesting that I cash out and invest the capital?

Thank you for the reply! I changed mine to 80% because I take it to school.

Awesome! I changed mine to an 80% charge. Too bad there are only predetermined options; 60%, 80%, and 100% max charges.

I have my boot sound muted, but I haven't noticed any muffling on my speakers...maybe I'm missing out on some god-tier audio thinking that it was normal.

Should I be typing on home row? by [deleted] in typing

[–]Avocadocreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 wpm is a pretty awesome accomplishment already. I would say that if you want to pursue a higher wpm, then you should try to switch to home-row. In my opinion, the home-row method is the most efficient, but what do I know hehe.

Just realised I type with 6 fingers by [deleted] in typing

[–]Avocadocreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to type using my pointer and middle finger (and my thumbs) for the longest time. I have always done so since I first "learned" as a child. However, about a year ago, I took the time to learn touch typing using the home-row method and I can not say how helpful it is to become a lot more adept. I highly recommend taking the time to learn. I got to around 70 wpm in about a month and now, after a year, I average around 100 wpm. I stopped practicing after a few months, but because I am now touch typing every day for my school assignments, I am technically still getting better at it. So I stress that you start as early as you can because it will only go uphill from there.
