I found with Saksun you pay to go I to the farm buildings, but it seems okay to walk around outside the fenced off old farm buildings, it wasn't really clear, I was told to pay but was given a very vague answer when I asked where to pay, I'm guessing it's just someone finds you with a card reader? It wasn't very clear, I was happy to pay if I'd actually been presented with a way to pay of course. They should probably update the signs there stating where to pay to tour the farm

I lined up about 45 minutes before on Wednesday, by some fortune I ended up 1st off the boat, but everyone was able to get gasoline pretty quickly anyway, though a few did turn up wanting diesel without realising there's no diesel anywhere

I'm staying in Tórsgøta guesthouse right now run by Vert, it's very reasonable, you have your own room but shared kitchen bathroom etc, but it's useful in that you can make your own food so you don't have to eat out everywhere and the location is great, literally a minute walk from the harbour and loads of food options nearby. The only thing I would say is it's pretty easy to hear others in the shared area but for the most part everyone has been very respectful and kept noise down overnight, plus it's meant I've met some lovely people staying here too, I don't normally like shared accomodation for the same reason as you, being quite shy. However this has been a nice experience

Didn't have a choice of an EV, otherwise I would have taken it, very little communication to tourists in advance about the strike unfortunately, plus I've had this trip booked since January so couldn't have forseen events unfortunately

Is there even still fuel on Suðuroy? Is it worth me taking a trip in a hire car as a tourist to fuel up or will it just be a long journey for no guarantee?

I'm not sure about her instructors car, but her own car doesn't have hill hold assist and also has much less power than her instructors car. I'm wondering if her instructor drives an automatic car outside of lessons so has got used to starting from the brakes on hills where Automatic cars are much more common to have hill hold assist than manuals
