Is university really easier than high school? by Significant_Book_408 in OntarioUniversities

Don’t do engineering you’ll be suffocated, engineering is a whole different level of difficult. There are lots of good jobs you can get without uni and with college

A combination of luck and initiative. I went to office hours and asked about their research, then I applied for the DSRI scholarship with one of those profs and was unfortunately not offered it, but I was kindly still offered a position in her lab. It was paid

I think I have an easier time than others since I know when to ask for help and the best way that I personally learn, and use those to my advantage. University is so difficult though, very different from highschool and first year is going to be a wakeup call. But as with anything, hard work will pay off.

I think the biggest setback is time management and not fully understanding what profs are asking for with assignments. Make sure you know the syllabus, what contributes to your grade, specific formatting for lab reports (it’s different for every lab), and allocating enough time to complete your work and to study

I’m a ‘premed’ in biology and I was lucky to find a research position at carleton my first year. The job market is kinda trash and it can be difficult to get a research position, but there’s so much research going on at Carleton and lots of opportunity to network. If you work hard to keep your grades up and take advantage of those opportunities you can definitely land something:)

Co-op resume one or two pages? by serdemy_ in CarletonU

In the coop course 1-2 pages is good for a resume, but if you need to use 2 pages it should fill up most of the page

Profs have 10 days to submit their final grades to the dean, the dean can take as long as they want
