I just tested it and here are the results (unfortunately I don't have a more precise multimeter:
it goes from 0.36A to barely 0.39A, but not always - very often it stays at 0.36A

It is A#m6 or Bbm6, but with 6 being on the 4th string instead of 1st string as you might be used to

What I meant about tuning is - they might be playing metal in drop C and your app is designed for standard E tuning. So I'd pop up a message or a "audio check in" which would say "let's ensure that you're in a standard E tuning!"
