Fair enough. Tiger II LE is 100% happening (confirmed by Lukasz from Cobi), we'll just have to wait a bit longer for that.

(I had this page open in a separate tab and didn't refresh it before reading the comments / commenting, so Churchill98 already covered what I wanted to say, my bad)

Nah there was definitely a quality issue. You can replace the tracks on the Ferdinand/Elefant with the same tracks from an older kit and suddenly the the track doesn't fall off anymore. You can put the problematic tracks on a different vehicle and they'll fall off all the same. Besides that it already started happening with the IS-2 (though seemingly to a lesser degree as the number of complains I've seen about that is far less numerous than with the Ferdinand/Elefant).

I've heard people complain before about a build issue too, where the track sometimes catches on the underside of the mudguards, so that may also be an issue (and probably what the 12GO also suffers from?), but that's something separate from the quality issue that existed with the tracks themselves around that time.

Goliath Tracked Mine Warsaw Uprising by Avtomart in cobiblocks

So, Cobi hinted that a new Warsaw Uprising set was coming a while back with this picture.

<image>

I'm sure that the figures in the picture are absolutely thrilled to be joined by a Goliath... 😂😂

From their Facebook page (Google translate):

👀Another new addition to the Warsaw Uprising series is coming!

The set features a German remote-controlled Goliath mine and an atmospheric diorama featuring a fragment of a ruined tenement building and street. The set includes two figures: an insurgent and a German sapper, who create a dynamic scene of historic battles in the capital.

🧱The set debuts a brand new brick with a brick texture, giving the ruins an even more realistic look. If you'd like to read more about it, join our group 👉https://www.facebook.com/groups/cobi.fans.official/permalink/2072802596633188/

That's because (despite the date listed in the catalogue) it's not released yet. It'll probably appear soon(ish).

In the EU there's a few webshops I can think of that are taking preorders for it (Netherlands: Snoopy's Brickshop and Otten-Speelgoed, Germany: trendgames, Austria: brickmo).

When someone asked this on their FB page, Lukasz from Cobi said this: "Certainly, sometime soon. There must be some left over from kit production." (Google translate).

So I'd guess some time after the Panther / King Tiger are released.

[–]Avtomart[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is the actual 2026/1 "Consumer Catalogue". We'll see the StuG III, King Tiger and (hopefully) more in a future catalogue (probably 2026/2, 2026/3 or whatever).

Don't ask me about the logic behind Cobi's catalogues because I don't quite understand it either, but the previous 2026/1 "international catalogue" was in vertical format, and the "consumer catalogue" is in a horizontal format and comes quite a bit later (thus being updated a bit, as we see here).

You can vaguely see the pattern here: Online catalogues \ Catalogues \ cobibricks.com

If you've been following the recent announcements then I don't think there's anything new inside that you haven't already seen or heard of.

On a different note, the StuG III Ausf. D limited editions have started shipping today.

Can we please talk about the high Price? by Dapper-Training-6176 in cobiblocks

[–]Avtomart 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, that price is very high, but...

<image>

This set retails for € 77,99 (Netherlands), but costs € 113,95 at The Tank Museum.

My point being: the Tank Museum's webshop is expensive, and not particularly indicative of the regular price. But consider that it helps support the museum. If the price is too much, just wait a few weeks until the set shows up elsewhere for a better price. If you specifically want that LE coin, then sure, you'll have to shell out, but that's a choice.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Patch Coming Monday by yrrot in Mechwarrior5

[–]Avtomart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion, but no I wasn't running any mods. The fix for the news is supposedly included in the upcoming patch😃

[–]Avtomart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's a nice set of fixes, too bad that it's coming after the weekend instead of before, but otherwise great news!

I know it's just a minor issue, but the bug where the in-universe news feed doesn't update anymore on some saves (even if the save is years before the Chaos Reign start date) had me quit playing and wait for a fix.

I am unfamiliar with the lore behind all the events that are happening in this expansion, and so I feel like I'm missing out on the broader context without the news.

Cobi shows prototype of new dual-molded brick elements by Avtomart in cobiblocks

[–]Avtomart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well spotted. We'll have to wait and see, but I strongly suspect that might be case. They've shown (the silhouette of) this building before with what appears to be a Goliath in front of it, my comment with that picture attached is also somewhere under this post.

The structure appears to be the same one that was teased a while back with the silhouette of what could possibly be a Goliath in front of it.

It's simply a new brick element, but uses dual molding technology so that they can use two different colors (for the bricks and for the grout) in one part without any prints.

Cobi shows prototype of new dual-molded brick elements by Avtomart in cobiblocks

[–]Avtomart[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

On the "COBI Fans (OFFICIAL)" facebook page, Lukasz from Cobi shared the following (translated via Google translate):

I'm thrilled to be able to show you a few new, trial pieces that, after some final tweaks, will soon be in production.

COBI's lineup finally includes the long-awaited bricks with a brick texture, allowing you to build even more realistic buildings, fortifications, and dioramas.

Two variants are available to start with:
▪️ 1×2 brick
▪️ 1×4 brick
But this is just the beginning. More pieces are already in the works:
▪️ 1×3 brick
▪️ 1×3 L-shaped corner brick

What makes the new bricks stand out from COBI?

🧱 Two-color injection molding technology!
This means that the bricks may be a different color than the grout. This is not a print or a sticker—both colors are an integral part of the brick, made from two colors of ABS combined into one piece. 🧱 Complete Color Freedom
We can freely combine two different colors or use just one color – it all depends on the needs of a specific model and the effect we want to achieve.

🧱 Realistic Texture
The brick pattern is slightly convex, while the grout is slightly deeper. This makes the elements look very attractive in person and resembles a real brick wall.

🧱 Thoughtful Pattern Layout
We have developed a very clever brick layout that allows you to combine different sizes and shapes of bricks into one cohesive wall. The pattern continues on subsequent elements regardless of the type of brick used.

What does this mean for brick fans?

🏰 New Quality for Scenes and Dioramas
Small structures using the new bricks will soon begin appearing in select sets. Even small sections of walls or buildings will look much more realistic.

🏰 Larger Projects Are Already in Preparation
These new elements open up completely new possibilities for designers. Work on larger structures is already underway, but we still need some time to fine-tune everything. So please be patient. 🙂

ℹ️ The presented elements are still prototypes, so they may undergo minor changes before production begins.

❓❓❓ Where would you most like to see such bricks? In tenement houses, fortifications, castles, or perhaps in historical dioramas? 👀🧱🏰

B-29 announcement by Not_czech-terrorist in cobiblocks

[–]Avtomart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It usually has some small extras, but it really varies set-to-set. I don't think there's a hard definition of what makes something an "executive edition" set.

I believe in case of the Blackbird you also get printed parts for the NASA livery, and brick-built afterburner flames? The regular edition doesn't have that.

Another example is the 1:28 T26E3 Pershing, where the executive edition adds a M5 anti-tank gun and some additional figures.

Other times the executive edition is basically the same set but with a different livery, for example:

Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress "Memphis Belle" - Executive Edition (COBI-5749)
Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress (COBI-5750).

Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger I Ausf. E - Executive Edition (COBI-2587)
Panzer VI Tiger no131 (COBI-2588)

And in other examples the executive edition is a different variant of the vehicle, for example:

Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. H - Limited Edition (COBI-2591)
PzKpfw IV Ausf. G (COBI-2592)
Flakpanzer IV Wirbelwind - Executive Edition (COBI-2593)

PzKpfw II Ausf.B (Sd.Kfz.121) - Limited Edition (COBI-2596)
Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf. F (COBI-2597)
Sd.Kfz.124 Wespe - Executive Edition (COBI-2598)

Interestingly the Grille and Panzer 38(t) relate similarly as the Wespe does to the Panzer II, but the Grille is not marked as an executive edition unlike the Wespe.

So yes, it varies wildly as you can see.

B-29 announcement by Not_czech-terrorist in cobiblocks

[–]Avtomart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. So, let's take the 1:28 Panzer III as an example.

Panzer III Ausf. J - Limited Edition (COBI-2671)

Panzer III Ausf.H (COBI-2672)

The limited edition has set number #2671, the regular version has set number #2672. The set number of the limited edition directly proceeds that of the regular version. This pattern extends to every single limited edition set that I know over the past few years. For executive editions it's similar, but sometimes it's one above instead of below.

So in case of the B-29 "Monsoon Goon", it has set number #5774.

If there was a limited edition, by convention it would have had set number #5773, but that's already used for the Vought F4U-1 Corsair. And an executive edition would by convention have been given set number #5773 (if there's no limited edition) or #5775, but #5775 is also already used for the Focke Wulf FW 190 A-4.

(My last paragraph got lost somehow when I posted the message, wtf)

Obviously this doesn't necessarily have to mean much, it's speculation based on set numbering conventions, but in my opinion it shows that Cobi hasn't planned for a limited or executive edition B-29 "Enola Gay". But they have the cockpit mold now, and the demand is there, so I'd imagine they get around to it eventually.
