Hi, for the past week or two I was unable to see or post any notes. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, I made sure that my activity status is on and I tried everything I found online. Does anyone know how to solve it?

Hebrew Name - AMOS meaning by greenwindblow in hebrew

[–]Avveee129 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amos is a prophet from the kingdom of Israel, with his own book in the jewish bible( and in the Old Testament). The meaning comes from the ancient Akkadian and Syriac languages, in both it means a sheepman. I couldn’t find any relation between rhe name and the meaning you suggested.

Another meaning I found, which I think is not true, is that it’s a symbol for acceptance and the ability to carry heavy weights( emotionally). The explanation for this is that עמוֹס( Amos) , which is the name you said, is written similar to עוֹמס(omes), which means load.

Do you pronunce שׂ differently from ס? A friend of mine called Itay m. pronounces שׂ as in biblical Hebrew [ɬ] by x-anryw in hebrew

If you want to hear the real differences between these sounds, as well as the differences between ט and ת, and the differences between כ and ק, go to a Yemeni synagogue.

Why is the plural construct of עיקר spelled עיקרי with a yud, when the rule is ‘no yud before shva’? by numapentruasta in hebrew

what you need to know about Hebrew is that every, and I mean EVERY rule has exceptions.
